Right-click any file in the list and choose Extract. You will be prompted where to save it. Any file in a pod may be extracted this way, and you can select several at once.
You often do not need to. Copy File puts the file itself on the clipboard, and a texture can be written straight out in another format with Save Image As — neither needs an extract-then-convert round trip. See Working with files.
With a pod open, choose Extract All on the File menu. You are asked where to put it, and given two choices about how.
| Layout | What you get |
| Recreate the POD's folders | ART\, MODELS\, SOUND\ and the rest,
as they are inside the pod. This is the default, and it is what you want
if you intend to rebuild — a .LST build expects exactly
this layout. |
| Everything into one folder | no subfolders. Handy for rummaging, but two files with the same name in different folders now collide, and C-POD renames the later ones and tells you which. |
You can also have it write a .LST at the same time, which
is especially handy when editing and repodding a track: extract, edit, and build
straight back from the list it just gave you.
