Kmaster’s Utilities

a different take on tools

Intro

This corner of MTMG is dedicated to the nifty utils Kmaster has come out with in recent times — three that run right in your browser, and two you download and run yourself. Proof that no matter how old the game is, new ideas can always take shape and come out with new and interesting things. This landing page offers a brief summary of what his utilities do. For more details, go to the section that handles each utility separately.

MTM1 & 2 Online Truck Viewer aka JSTruckViewer

A simple, pure browser javascript 3D viewer for Monster Truck Madness (MTM1) and Monster Truck Madness 2 (MTM2) trucks. Drop in a POD or ZIP file from your local storage, or point it at a CORS-enabled URL (aka another truck hosted on MTM2.com), and the viewer decodes the truck mesh, textures, and wheel placement entirely client-side.

MTM1 & 2 Online Track Viewer aka JSTrackViewer

A pure browser JavaScript 3D viewer for classic Terminal Reality game track/level archives, including Monster Truck Madness, Monster Truck Madness 2, Terminal Velocity, Fury3/F-Zone, Hellbender and CART Precision Racing track data. Drop in a POD or ZIP file from local storage, or point it at a CORS-enabled URL (aka another track hosted on MTM2.com), and the viewer decodes terrain, textures, objects, ground boxes, courses, trucks, water, backdrops, and CPR racetrack layers all client-side. JSTrackViewer is based on JTraxx, which in turn is based on the original Traxx track editor for MTM1 & MTM2.

Online POD Viewer aka JSPod

A browser-based viewer for POD archives used by Terminal Reality games: Monster Truck Madness, Monster Truck Madness 2, Terminal Velocity, Fury3, Hellbender, Nocturne, 4×4 Evo, and others. All decoding runs client-side. No server, no uploads, no install.

JPod & KPod (offline archives)

A desktop tool for viewing, extracting and building Terminal Reality POD archives — POD1 for Monster Truck Madness 1 and 2, CART Precision Racing, Hellbender, Terminal Velocity and Fury3, plus POD1-64 for Community Patch 3 and POD2 for 4x4 EVO and Nocturne. Based on the original WinPod by MDMRE. JPod is the Java build and runs on Windows, macOS and Linux; KPod is the same program as a native Windows application.

JPodman & KPodman (offline podmounting)

A POD mounting utility that reads what is actually inside each POD — the .SIT and .TRK files — so your mount list shows track and truck names instead of filenames, and warns you when two mounted PODs carry the same one. The same program comes two ways: JPodman in Java for Windows, macOS or Linux, and KPodman rewritten as a native Windows application for anyone who would rather not install Java. Same version, same features, same files.

WinPod32 (offline)

A 32-bit version of that same famous POD viewer and extractor, for Windows 9x through 7. It creates pods from a response file, mounts them, extracts selected or all files, checks a response file for validity, and views RAW, TXT, BMP, WAV and ACT files from a right-click menu. Kmaster's version fixes it for Vista and 7, raises the POD.INI mounting limit to 99, and drops the old VBX runtime files it used to need.
