Wait no longer. The base terrain texture looks an eye sore. Find a different base texture or lay in those breakneck rocky looking patterns. This, RQ8TRN00.RAW, in case you were wondering, is the problem one. Even breakneck doesn't let it show like that. Sheesh, man, are you afraid to try and make this thing more appealing or something. I have no objection to removing checkpoint markers but probably the thing to do is set them to normal or complex level so the racers don't see them but us slow pokes that need brail in order to drive around a track can have them there in the event of early senility and I forget where I was going. And for goodness sakes, tilt them so they fit flat on the ground, yea, even if they're on an angle. What do you think this is anyway? If all you're going to do is stick them in so 'you' know it's a checkpoint, then yea I agree we don't need 'em. But if they're going to be there, then make them fit the ground properly. And fix that texture bit at the bridge cope keeps narping about. And resize the c98 bridge support so it fits your bridge and get rid of that ugly two-box lump you got under that bridge. And, if you're going to have gaps like this this, then why bother with supports at all, whether they look good or butt-ugly. In sum, I like the track, it drives well, gives a good sense of speed, has challenging spots for good races, but c'mon, we know you can do better than this.

I've been awake for goin on 50 hours now, I just got off work and now I have to do a bunch of other stuff here at the house.... so It;ll be another 10 hors or so before i get some sleep....

My isp crashed again so theres no point in trying to do anything online cruzing at the extreme speed of .09k a sec... you wouldnt believe how long i actually waited for this to load....

I... was happy with the track...... Its the type of track i like... simple yet fun.... everyone else on the otherhand has somthing wrong... so yea.... "why bother"...

Atleast you 2 actually gave help.... which I cant say for anyone else... sorry i wasted ur time...

*edit*

Whoa, whoa man...don't go out like that. Look, the fact of the matter is this track would work in it’s present condition - no question. But it's like I told you the other day, since you've come this far, why not complete the circle? No one's slammin you here, Psyco, I assure you. Look bud, you've got a dang nice layout, and yeah, technically there are a few things wrong, but the way I see it is if you put forth the effort of correcting what's been pointed out, I would think you would be that much further ahead the next time around. I see it as a learning process, you know? There's no question you can whip out extremely nice layouts - you've proven that several times over. But if the expertise is available to you in the form of objective criticism with the focus on making this track the best that it could be (considering the number of people looking at it), why not take it?

Man, I wish you had an insider's view to the beta testing that's done for SMP Creations (OLD_Coach98 and MMouse). It's very much like this...maybe a little more in-depth. In fact, I know it's more in-depth. It’s tweak, tweak, test…and the process is repeated over and over until the makers feel they’ve put forth their best effort. Have you gotten to that point yet? I'll tell you what, I'd lay money you could stroll thru Crosswinds 1&2, and Yazoo and find flaws you probably weren't even aware of before...and it would be because of this process here; beta testing. I don't make tracks, but I've learned quite a bit hanging out at this place. Image

I seriously hope you reconsider, Psyco. Heck, I've already hyped this track to the team, and even made a spot for it on one of the 3 racing list we run!!!

Bottom line: If you need/want to take a break from it for a few, no problem at all, but don't give up, bud.

>>I... was happy with the track...... Its the type of track i like... simple yet fun...

Then that's all that should matter. If you like it, then what does anybody else know.

>>At least you 2 actually gave help...

Well, we try. Perhaps it comes across harder when you're tired. But the bottom line is we're just trying to help out... even if that means giving you a kick to try and get you moving.

>> sorry i wasted ur time...

You didn't. No apologies.

Psycho get used to it. I know since i do open beta testing usually Copey and Phineus are like on my list even before i start making the track. Sure it kinda starts to be annoying when they keep on noticing and noticing more stuff that aren't what they are supposed to be (and if u look deep down inside ur heart u agree with them). The best way in the end is to fix whatever they tell you because in the end when u race it after u release it, you will just have a fuzzy feeling inside. Hehe. There are some small stuff on Ostego's Run (for example) that i think they didn't noticed it and neither did i but i saw them 2 nights ago and i regret for not fixing them. Even though it's minor stuff that prolly most people don't even see it.

I honestly can't make a call on the grass texture at this point. On one hand it looks sorta out of place, but at the same time, depending on how you employ other decorative models/accessories...it could look really nice.

I DO like the additional track you laid down, however. Keep going man...and it's good to see ya back!

The road work and layout is excellent, I love it!, but those hillside textures look like bad carpeting, if you changed them all to a complete "matching" tiled set, do some surrounding hillside smoothing, add a map, throw in some trees and rocks, it'd be a ten...

very nice so far tho man.

I think what you're using is fine. All that needs to be done is compliment what you have with accessories.
