The truck worked in my game, but I found a flaw that may have been the source of the problem.
I cound not open the model in Binedit either. When I examined the files within the pod, I found one RAW and one ACT texture with a 10 letter name (pntherflms.raw and pntherflms.act). Like the model, the texture names must be 8 letters or less.
I changed the name of that texture to PTHRFLMS and it opens in Binedit now. Hopefully the in-game error will be fixed as well.
Here's a copy of the truck with the fixed texture. PantherTdj, download and try this copy and see if it works for you. Just pod it in a normal manner at the bottom of your pod.ini list this time.

And as Phin mentioned, color changes in the game are common, due to the limited colors available in the game. The truck color is at the mercy of whatever track you run, and will change from it's intended color if that color is not available on the pallette of colors of that particular track.

....is there a conflict between the 2 trucks since they are similar? trying to use the same textures?
A conflict will occur if you do not rename the texture and model after making changes to the original. It also may happen if the names are very similar, depending on the name. But this usually results in 2 trucks looking identical in the game, not a game crash.
