Hey buddy - sure, I can help ya out. I'll spare you the history of the Nitro Room and simply say that it's now open again, but getting to it is not as easy as it once was.

- First login using this url: http://zone.msn.com/en/root/cdclassic
- Then go here after logging in: http://classic.zone.msn.com/asp/roomlist.asp?game=mtm2

You should see the "Nitro Injection" game room, which is where you want to be.

As for settings, trucks and racing online, nowadays you can find suggested garage sets for any track on this site. The tracks are divided up by year, however, you can sort them in a variety of ways. Under "Bookmarks" you'll find lists of tracks, which are essentially "favorites" that were compiled by various individuals and teams. For example, here's the EVO Conversion list - tracks that have been converted to MTM 2 from EVO 4X4. It has garage sets and lap times.

As for trucks, for the most part any will do. Personally, I'd recommend steering clear of Boogey Van and Stinger lol - but that's just me. There are lots of add-on trucks you can add to the game, however. Simply find one that suites you best. ;)

Lastly, our team races quite a bit, so if you really like racing, look us up. We race lists of tracks (high volume lol), which isn't everyone's cup of tea, but we're pretty serious about the fun we have racing, and find that our method affords us the most variety with a minimum of time wasted trying to figure out what add-on tracks we all have in common.

If you have any problems, let us know and we'll see what we can do to get ya going. 8)

>>Error

Install it in the DEFAULT DIRECTORY - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Monster Truck Madness 2. If you install it anywhere else it will not work.

>>passwords

GRRRRR, I feel the same way. People seem to love private games, that's all they ever seem to do. Only people who know the password can play. Sometimes there are open competitions - aim for them.

Locked game rooms: I'm one of the people you're speaking of lol. Often times I'm just sitting in the room working on something else - a review, beta testing a track, working on our team site, updating the track page on this site . . . something.

The other reason I keep my room locked is because there are people who don't seem to understand the words "No thanks - I'm not playing right now". You'll get "Launch! Launch now!" or You'll get a series of "But why?" I don't have time for that mess, so I keep my room locked. If you tell me your zone name, however, I'll add you to my friends list, then all you have to do is send me a Zone Message. If I'm there I'll be glad to race a few with ya. Same for you, Mat - give me your Zone name and I'll add ya to the list.

LOL ok - gotcha. Kinda scared now, but sure, I'll add ya lol.

Now about this extended demo version. Unfortunately I don't know any who has it or if they got it to work. Furthermore, with all the recent changes with them turning off the Nitro room then turning it back on, but moving it to a not-so-convenient spot on the MSN page if that has anything to do with your problem. Hopefully someone who's installed the extended demo will chime in.

Did you install the patch? If the patch can find it, then the zone should find it too.

Secondly, do you have a firewall or router?

PS. for cope, extending the demo is a page I made that shows how to turn the demo into the full game without hacking or cracking.

I found the problem. Redownload the reg file. There was a second one needed.

Or just installing direct play should do it.
