Troubleshoot
Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that can go wrong. Below is a list of some common problems with tips how to solve them.
Q. When I try to start C-Pod I get a missing file message.
A. Download the support files and copy them to the C-Pod folder.
Q. I try to rename the files but I can't see the file types.
A. In windows folder options, uncheck Hide file extensions for known file types.
Q. After I mount my truck, MTM2 won't start and gives an error.
A. This is usually caused by spaces in file names. Don't use spaces.
Q. I painted everything correctly but in the game the truck looks crazy. All the paint is in the wrong places.
A. You probably have the textures named backward, or you replaced the names backward. That is, you have DIRT1 where DIRT2 should be, and DIRT2 where DIRT1 should be. Go back and double check you've named everything properly.
Q. In paint shop pro everything looks good but in the game the colors are different. Or it's fine on one track but not on another.
A. MTM2 uses the track palette to display truck colors. This means some colors just don't work very well in the game. Blue's and pink's in particular are bad for this. Sorry, there's not much you can do.
Q. I start the game, select my truck but see somebody else's truck instead of mine.
A. There is a name conflict. Base file names must be unique.
Q. Hey, painting over the stock textures is a lot of work.
A. It's not that bad. Look at some of the stock trucks to see if there's a different one you want to work with. Also, you can download stock blanks if you're really in rough shape.
Q. C-Pod looks cool, where can I learn more about it?
A. Check out the C-Pod site.
Q. Where can I learn more about custom trucks?
A. Visit Drive2Survive's Custom Workshops and the MTMG.
Q. I'm getting an error message that says.....
A. For a list of errors please see here
