Post subject: Still Strong Following?
PostPosted: Wed May 07, 2003 10:25 pm
Hello,

I used to play MTM2 and recently got a new computer and racing wheel and decided to try MTM2 again. Love the wheel and new puter.! :)
Now that I have been playing in single player for awhile I am now getting bored. So, is there still a strong following of this game and where do the MTMers hang out? Does the Gaming Zone still support this game?

Oh heck yes. Welcome back to the fray!
http://zone.msn.com/mtm2/
There is always someone on there willing to race, we all still head over there and trade paint once in awhile. Some more than others, but we all still hang out there when we can.

This game is probably at it's peak in my opinion. Maybe not with as large as a community, as it once had. But those of us that still are, we are all making the highest quality tracks & trucks I've seen yet.

You picked a great time to return.

I have been playing MTM2 for a longtime now, but never got on the zone, I recently began building trucks and am loving it more and more. I am reg'd in the zone but have had no time to be online, and am looking forward to making a whole bunch new friends, and maybe splashing my paint on a truck or two if anyone wants. Keep it fun! =]

Hello,

It was me who wrote the first message. Just didnt have time to registered eariler.

Most of you most likely dont know me, a few may. The name I used to used brfore KRUZR was WAR_Cruiser. Some NKA may remember me. Others may remember me as the guy who could never win a race.

See you guys soon...need to DL some tracks. Im happy to see most of my tracks are available for DL. Why? Most of them sucked. :)
There was one I did for MTM1 titled "Kruzr's Proving Grounds" or something like that. That track was one of my better ones. Sadly I don't have any of my tracks gonna have to DL them too. So if anyone has that one would you please upload it?

Coming back soon to lose again!

Good stuff...very good stuff. If racing is your game, allow me to introduce yout to a format that's becoming extremely popular of late. It's a method we came up with to maximize time spent on the tracks vs trying to figure out who has what, and it seems to be a big hit in the Zone.

After looking it over, if you have any questions, feel free to drop me an e-mail or post your question(s) here. Image

Hope to see some of you out there - we race every day!

I'll have to go along with Cope here. The racing list system that we use is the way to go for organize racing. To make it quik, in 3 sec you'll match a list of 70 tracks. Next thing you know is you wanna play with some othe guy, np again 3 sec and you match all the track that he or they have.

That makes alot of sense, very smooth concept for online gaming, easy to use and understand from what I see, and I will definately take full advantage of your system. Great work and insight guys. I look forward to testing My skills against others in the zone. =]

Yeah, and welcome back...another thing that's popular is drag leagues that simulate real life monster truck racing, old and new, but mostly new stuff. I run one of the leagues, the NTNT...

Just to give you an idea. Enjoy mtm2, always glad to have another person.

Man oh man thats alot of tracks to DL from SLO site. Got several so far and the tracks look good. Once I get a few more tacks I will see you all on the Zone.

As for Drag racing, never done that with MTM2, just MTM1. Might be interesting to see how its done in MTM2.

The initial investment in terms of d/l time and setup is somewhat steep, however, I promise you, you would waste 3 times that much time if you randomly loaded up on add-on tracks and day after day scouted around trying to see who has what so you can match tracks. We've already been down that road (and back again), and we concluded that using track lists allows us to spend 95% our time racing as opposed to trying to discern who has what tracks.

Trust me, if you decide to try our method, you'll discover what we did, and that is it's the only way to race. Image By the way, quite a few ppl have our track lists, and if there was ever a good time to jump on the bandwagon...this is it lol.

Hope to see ya in the Zone, guy.

PS - you said you downloaded several tracks already. Just to be clear, there are links that allow you to dowload a compilation of tracks in one zip, which constitutes one list. The adjacent link (to the far right) simply gives you a breakout of what tracks comprise that particular list, and gives recommended settings.

Yea but I didnt feel like sitting around waiting to DL all of them at once, refering to the APL list. So I DLed a few at a time and race them. Crashed alot too.J

Finally go the entire APL list of tracks. May be on the Zone sometime this week or the weekend.

Now you guys will take it easy on me at let me win right?
