One great thing that could be added to Monster truck madness is full support for Hardware Transform and Lighting, env maping, and all of geforce features and support for changing res up to 1600 x 1200 or more cause mtm2 only lets 640x480 max and support for AA or FSAA for those who have small monitors. Let's try some how to send this infoz to microsoft and they may possibly make a MTM3!

Well it's now 2/3/01. CW mentioned they needed to have a demo completed by mid Jan. 3 weeks later & still no news. Guess we got our chain's pulled.

My apologies to CW if it is inappropriate to post part of an e-mail I received a couple days ago.

quote:
Well, I'm back after my break (which seemed way too short), and unfortunately I can't give you any news ... as we still haven't got any go ahead on the Monster truck game.

They have stated that our demo was by far the best they recieved, and if the game goes ahead we're in a great position to get the gig, but it'll still be a couple more weeks before we know anything.

I'll keep you up to date.

And that's all I know. Again, my apologies to CW (who appears to be making a sincere effort) if I should not have posted this.

I put this up at KC's for 4x4 and think it would be great for a new MTM.
seires races..
The race would start 1 driver at a time, lets say 10 sec. apart. 50 feet in front of the 1st check piont.
Your time dosn't start till you go through the 1st check piont.(running start)
You race till the last check piont then your time is marked, then insted of the race ending at that piont you drive into a pit area onto to a marked spot.
then the game will promt you if you want to proseed or save game.
Say you proseed. Then the next pod in the seires is loaded and you start where you left off
(on the marked spot) Then you proseed to a start line 50 feet before the last check piont you went though. The game will then promt you when you can start.
Then you race to the last check and so on..
Amajin the posibility's here..Track author's can creat a seires that
merge together, going through deserts, citys, mountains, weird playground Image anything you whish..Amajin the online play with this, you could race for hours on the same seires and never see the same scenery..
And how about tournements, this would be an awsome tournement..
One could build an enderence seires that would take 2 hours to finish!!!
Amajin a tournement like that. =O

Update. The publisher for this new game has apparently changed its status to low priority. That does not necessarily mean it's the end of the line for this game. Rather, at this point, it seems more a business matter than a game development matter. I guess only the future knows what the game's fate will be.

In the meantime, I'd like to thank CW for coming here and consulting with us. This has been the first real, tangible evidence that anybody is seriously considering a new Monster Truck game. This has been very welcome news and I'm sure everybody is pleased that you've come here to get our input.

Good luck with the project.

Thanks Phineus and everyone for your help and input, even though things are proceeding at a very slow rate, and this game may not even materialise at all, I'll be sure to keep you posted if and when I hear anything that sounds positive.

Ok REALISTIC!!!!!!
Everything tracks trucks crowd.I'm sick of racing offroad.Monster trucks don't race offroad!!!!1.They race in domes and indoor/outdoor arenas.(ie silverdome, astrodome, mesa park)
Have tons of modes though like single freestyle, single race , season, carreer, truck editor, track editor I can think of more if this is for real but e-mail me if u want them.

here is what im sure everyone wants:
Graphics: more realistic look for the trucks
Performance: Bodies flying off
Breaking wheels
Flatten tires
Break axles
Power loss
Emptied fuel
Loss of rear stear
More realistic rolls
Pieces of bodies fall off
Instead of hitting the brakes for a wheelie how bout hitting the gas for a wheelie after landingM
ore realistic speed (make it say your only going like 60-80on the speedometer but make it look like your flying)
Get up on two wheels definatly and be able to save it when your on the SIDE of your wheels
And instead of your nose going straight up by hitting a regular ramp how bout making the jumps more realistic with nose dives a little
Lose front or back driveshafts so u lose 4 wheel drive and have 2 wheele drive on your front or back
And we definatly need motors to break or blow up and if we break anything give us the choice if we want to keep going or not
If theres water in the game make sure the water somehow splashes lol
Andmaybe the RII (Remote Ignition Interupter) could be controlled by people in multiplayer games
When we hit other peoples trucks how bout we can drive over their wheels or even over the entire truck if possible.
SOUNDS: FIRST OF ALL INSTEAD OF A HORN HOW BOUT A DRIVER YELLING AT OTHER DRIVERS ON THE TRACK OR HAVE THEM GO WHOOOOOOOO! LOL and try to make the engine sounds more realistic, or make a better horn like regular automobiles.
Tracks: all the tracks are great but for mtm2 they didnt have drag tracks so how bout adding some big drag tracks and make them as realistic as possible and how bout we get to freestyle too but not for score big tracks like las vegas world finals 2 lol.

WELL THATS PRETTY MUCH IT AND I KNOW THATS ALOT BUT YOU ASKED LOL SO JUST DO WHAT YOU CAN THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

Make a army armstrong voice editer so that when you make a truck You can make him say the name of it when he says his thing.

Make a track editor similar to soda offroad but still be able to add custom models and still have unlimited terrain

That thread is over 2 years old......I think your question has already been answered...
