If you don't already know, there is a cheat code called GOLD that allows you to do some very interesting things. Read all about it here: GOLD mode and beyond
In short: if you type GOLD, then press Ctrl-Y the game will pause and you can move your truck around in every imaginable way - including up, in fact I use this mode to literally fly around my own tracks. The keyboard configuration takes some getting used to though, to be able to move in a fluid manner.
There are a couple of small things I need to update on that GOLD mode webpage, but today my 5 year old nephew discovered something quite cool, so bear in mind he is the one who discovered this trick.
Once GOLD mode is active, when you press Ctrl-Y the game pauses and you can move your truck, when you press Ctrl-Y again the game resumes. An interesting phenomenon (hehe) is that the trucks retain their speed and directional momentum, so you could be barreling along, hit Ctrl-Y, move the truck, and then release and your truck will spring back into action but in the direction you have chosen.
As you know, the default in-game key "K" switches the viewing perspective to the computer trucks.
Well my five year old nephew discovered (btw, this was during his first session ever using the gold mode hack) that while in Ctrl-Y he could switch to the computer trucks using "K" and move them around as well!
What this means is that you can hit Ctrl-Y and reposition every truck before hitting Ctrl-Y again and resuming the race.
This can make for some interesting screenshots, and even for some interesting eight truck mid-air collisions
