Monster Jam World Finals X by White2098

The time is finally here, the 10th anniversary of the World Finals! If you are actually reading this
then you should keep going because I will cover some important aspects of this track to make it
more enjoyable for you to play on so keep reading!

Ramp Notes Racing:

Obviously not too much to cover here, but there are a few little renditions to this years racing layout.
For starters the straight away is wider than before so high speed racing will be at its finest this year,
but so will high speed crashing. Turn to tight and hit the car and you'll be in for a ride, but more
importantly watch out for the White double jump and the Green triple! If you find your self losing
control and run into the side of those two you'll be in for one hell of a crash.

Freestyle Notes:

Freestyle is a very intricate design this year. I spent more time on ramps than I've ever spent before
making them behave as realistically as possible while keeping it fun as possible at the same time.

One major note to keep in mind while freestyling is speed and angles. These ramps are designed for
high speeds so the faster you go the more realistic jumps look. This rule has some play to it, but
generally speaking the bigger jumps apply to this rule the most. Backing up the the wall for the triple
and double to clear it, hitting the racing jumps with high speeds to get some air, etc.

Now there is also the slower speeds. Some jumps will launch you further at slower speeds like the double.
If you go fast over the rock fountain you'll most likely get too much air, but if you go slow to medium speeds
you'll get the best results.

The ramps are extremely intricate in design as mentioned earlier so there is too much for me to explain
with out you actually doing it your self so get out there and be creative!

The BACKFLIP:

This is actually tricky at first, but don't let it fool you the backflip is very possible!

I've found that going about 20 mph is the best speed. Head up to the jump staying between 20 and 30
then press and HOLD reverse(don't let go!) quickly AFTER you've made first contact with the ramp. Some times
you'll get thrown for a crazy ride and even end up sitting a hundred feet in the air, but usually if done
correctly the backflip will work like a charm. Good luck!

Textures:

The textures were done much differently this year. I took a more technical approach to help reduce lag
and keep the playability at its highest. You'll probably notice some blurry obstacles here and there,
but it's a sacrifice for the better good. I want everybody to be able to run this track full graphics with
no lag at all and that's what I feel I've accomplished on this track.

Don't get me wrong, I spent more time on textures this year than last year believe it or not. I have every single
obstacle and car set to only five texture pallets as apposed to 20+ pallets on last years. I spent a
majority of the track making process just putting as many textures as I could on as little pallets as possible.
I also did very little photo texturing. A vast majority of the textures are hand done and all of them are heavily
modified from the original photo. The level of detail I went through to get this track to look like it does just
about killed me haha, but in the end it was worth it.

Beta Testers:
Mark Iron
DavetheSmasher
Jordan Robinson
Robbie
Matt D
Jet

Thanks for the testing guys, you all did a great job at finding any little detail you could!

I'd like to specifically thank Jordan for all his awesome posters and in game shots to help keep everybody
at bay while I was off working on the track. I'd also like to thank you for the awesome bonus trucks, Max D.
and Sudden Impact, some great work Jordan!

Speaking of trucks, thank you Jet for the 10th anniversary World Finals trucks! Great job whipping that paint
job up in time for the track!

I'd like to thank Matt D also for his great work on the Monster Jam video, excellent job on the video Matt!

I'd also like to make a special mention to the whole Monster Jam family and MTM2 community. This is the
10th anniversary of the World Finals and with out the fans and hard working Monster Jam teams, crews, and
officials this wouldn't be possible. Thank you everybody who's pitched in with Monster Jam over the last 10
years of World Finals events, you all deserve all the credit in the world!

Good luck with the track and most importantly, ENJOY!

Oh White this is fantastic.

I loved this, I haven't perfected that 'backflip'.

The secret to the backflip, for stock handling trucks it seems, is hard suspension. After 10 minutes of awkward, glitchy jumps on soft, I went out and nailed a backflip on my first attempt on hard using White's advice. I'm absolutely amazed at the work that went into this. White, just... WOW.

P.S. - It's possible on medium as well, but doesn't look as "natural" from what I saw. As an amusing aside, I went up the hill from the other side on medium. Due to the way the ramps were set up, I went about 100 ft in the air and pulled off a front flip... :D

Good find on the front flip! I guess that's a first eh?

I was online last night and back flipped and landed on the front of the orange jump like a motox bike on landing on a down ramp, it was perfect haha.

Glad you all like it!

Is certainly fun :)
Wouldn't have thought of the frontflip till I read Kouvre's post, first time I did that one was by accident lol so was then fun to keep trying it, harder suspension was the key for me.

I can do a back flip on first try every time now. With hard suspension, I go about 15-20 and hold reverse down right after I make first contact with the ramp. works like a charm for me :) [(-:] :)
