where can i find some real working lights for tracks, i need a lot for a rumble im doing. im not particular, but if there's anything flashing or spinning that would be cool (stationary is fine too though)

Eh, I've seen them on World Finals tracks... I just couldn't tell you which ones.

Lights in a track are done by setting a model to "moving" and leaving the direction values at zero. The light beam is actually the train headlight pointed in the direction you want. The biggest caution is that moving objects follow the terrain, so they sink as soon as the game begins. There are workarounds.... This page, about halfway down, has the readme on how to make it work.
