The procedure is the same as for MTM2. Place the pod in the game directory, open POD.INI, add the name to the end, and increment the number at the top. If you have a program that does this for you - i.e. Cowpod - that should work too.

You don't need to create a thing, just get the MTM1 Patch and install tracked or podman.

More info about mounting pods on MTM1

its looks liek its for windows 95 fixes for multiplayer

it doesnt have a pod.ini in it however.

    ADVPACK.DLL
    EULA.TXT
    EXEPATCH.EXE
    MONSTER.EXE

Fixes in the patch:
* Internet play freeze problems.
It is still important to limit the number of trucks
to 4 or less, including computer trucks. Equally
as important, the host should be the player with the
fastest computer.

* Synchronization problems at the end of the game.
With this patch, all players will have identical
results in the results table.

* Multiplayer support for add-on tracks.

* Multiplayer compatible with later patches.

For pod.ini, download podman or tracked.

and as for the guy that says it didn't install, it seems to be a simple archive of files (I opened it in winrar) just copy the files into the mtm2 folder.
