Clear transparent sponsor panels?

I've tried everything I can think so far and still can't get it. Hopefully one of you nice people here can help me out. 8)

Truck in photo is Xtreme_Rtm's An Escalade.

Do you want decals on it or just clear?

If you want decals, then paint the texture black (RGB 0,0,0), put your decals on and save. Then in binedit, press the space key until the face is highlighted, then on the menu > Face > edit current. In the face type box, choose 0x33 Transparent Color (MTM2). Click ok and save the model.

If the surface is more than one face, you will have to repeat for each face, or press F-key on each one, then instead of "edit current" you do Groups > Set Group Face Type and then select the same type, and save.

If you don't need decals (or any other imaging) you have two choices. Paint the texture area black with nothing on it, and set the face types. Or, you can delete the face completely - space bar to highlight it and then ctrl + del to delete it.

What I'm trying to do is get it to be clear but like a gray color so it's still visible so that way it's not totally clear/transparent.

I think semi transparency requires the alpha channel of your computers colours, which doesn't exist in mtm2 cause mtm2 runs on 256 colours.
Almost I am not sure if DX4 could do that.

It requires an MTM2 transparent face to be mapped on the edge of a 0,0,0 black pixel and another color. It confuses the game to make the translucent face.
