Ok, so my computer first got a virus from a limewire download. My antivirus program killed it, but my computer was having loads of trouble from limewire. The task bar in the bottom right hand corner turned completely black and said it was blocking the icons so they didnt get affected by the virus. I ran a virus scan of the whole computer and iit found no viruses. Now the task bar is just a bunch of arrows and is non functional.

I figured since there are a few people here who know a lot about computers could maybe help me. I need to know if there's anything I can do to fix it or if it is going to have to be permanent. Btw I uninstalled limewire. I hope I don't have to do a complete computer sweep.

I've heard of this but don't know the solution. However, a search might help

http://www.google.com/search?q=system+tray+is+all+black

(the thing by the clock is called the "system tray" - don't ask me why)

Have to be carefull with lamewire, it's infested with viruses, some DRM protected stuff and RIAA fake mp3s

For P2P I recommend Ares or Soulseek

Well I did some searches, I found one person who had the same problem. There was a solution that worked for his but when I tried it, it just removed everything BUT the arrows from my system tray. I posted on Yahoo answers and hopefully get a solution.

Sorry, don't mean to laugh at your problems, but doesn't it figure?

I hope you get it sorted out.

So yep I had to do a complete sweep, but i could save all my important files (mtm2 tracks, trucks, etc) on discs. When the virus hit my computer, it added 100,000+ songs which every single one had a virus. So technically I had well over 100,000 viruses on my computer. Now that's kind of funny. It's all fine now though.

Good stuff. Glad to hear it wasn't a major catastrophe.
