Whenever i click multiplayer and host and do the settings, i click ok and the whole thing freezes and i can't do anything, so i have to open task manager and shut off mtm2. It was working a little bit ago. Please help because mtm2 is boring after a while without playing online.

That's a new one. Anything else you can tell us? Maybe something else is running and it's conflicting. Have you installed any new programs or hardware lately?

Nope, it was a bad lag, from all the trucks and tracks and it caused it to freeze, and i had to wait a few seconds. So this was solved.

Too many high vert trucks can end the game rather ubruptly, but, you'll always get an error message. Too many tracks as a fatal error is a new one on me.

MTM game launches tend to take a bit sometimes, be patient. :)

I run vista and I have no problem with connecting to a game. I type the IP in and the games right there and my pod list is maxed out...

Sooner or later you will have heh

Doesn't really matter if you have your podini at max, vista fails in the most common file operations, the boot system is just awful and hardcoded, Vista SP1 is bugered to sh.. ah, do we have to this again? I think Slay can give you a "Why Vista Sucks" list, just ask for it and we may send it to you free of charge hehe (Including removal tools)[(-:]

Did you know "Vista" means "View", that's the only good thing that you can get with that malware, you computer may look good with the aero theme, but it has become completely useless, just try it. You can even have fun finding bugs hehe, too bad Vista is not open source, that would be hilarious. [(-:]

I just wish MS woulda kept their promise when they said Aero was an option, and you could elect to use an XP theme that would use the exact same resources and look the same as XP... this feature never made it I guess, even the "Classic" view is ugly. I just wish Vista had to options that people really want. And honestly i would rather it still said "Start" and not some windows symbol, my folks have been clicking "start" for 12 years now, they are confused with the new system, honestly, they couldnt find the start button, and when they did, they couldnt find how to turn the computer off. They vastly prefer windows 95 still, they get through that easilly, Start, Shutdown, simple, in XP, it is Start/Turn off Computer
Epicly easy.

Why is it not that easy in Vista? Also those messages from UAC annouyed them to all hell. Basically any messages from the system scare inexperienced users, so when they try to do anything and are asked a confusing question, or any at all, they get scared that they may break something. However, I am not sure if Vista, is like XP in that, it can be so locked down that you cannot even right click. And of course you can suppress all error message, and reduce them to just log files that are sent to a server. Maybe Vista can do this too, however it shouldn't be required for normal operation. They should make a Vista for power users, and Vista for Home users, Power users being very open and free to make changed, even if the changes could harm your computer (Windows 95 actually had an option to reset your MBR on boot, I got no idea what this option actually does, it just says "Not Recommended") and home users being a sort of locked down, suppressed messages sort of version, maybe even have this as a user option, Display UAC messages or not, for example. I can see things like "Only run applications that the administrator has deemed safe" where, I can for example, install an application, mark it as safe, and when my folks use it as their user account, it works without any messages. (Also applications should have option to be installed to work for all users, though maybe this does exist in Vista, I do not know)

Basically I have a lot of suggestions for Vista, but I know that will never happen, because MS is run by fools. (Reference Xbox girl gamers advertisement)

Honestly I think it's unreasonable to expect everything to run smoothly when you're using a 10 year old game on a brand new operating system. Personally I've not had a single problem, even with Vista x64, but the vast majority of games, even those from 2 or 3 years ago, flat-out refuse to work with Vista.

I have both versions of flatout, they run very smooth on my vista machine.

I always get a av after the end of the race though in MTM2. It's really annoying, especially that I can't see the results.

if your gettting AV's after a race, try making sure that the videos, the outros, victory videos etc. are disabled.
