Hey all,

I'm working on a small tires project, but I run into an annoying problem in TrackEd2. I load up the model in TE2, press S to display the scrape points, but not matter what I do to the .TRK file the scrape points are always the same, way too high over the car body. They're still in the correct shape for the body however. Can anyone help please?

In the TRK file you will find lines like this (there's twelve of them I think)

Scrape point 1 body axis x,y,z
-3.496094,0.000000,8.882812
Scrape point 2 body axis x,y,z
3.492188,0.000000,8.882812
Scrape point 3 body axis x,y,z
-3.496094,2.234375,8.882812

Use notepad to change the Y value to raise and lower (all of) them. For example:

Scrape point 1 body axis x,y,z
-3.496094,-2.000000,8.882812
Scrape point 2 body axis x,y,z
3.492188,-2.000000,8.882812
Scrape point 3 body axis x,y,z
-3.496094,-4.234375,8.882812

Note. The new binedit lets you edit scrape points and see the changes as you work.

It's been ages since I used Tracked2 but now that I think about it, doesn't Tracked2 automatically set the scrape points the moment you load the TRK file?

According to the page: "Fortunately, Tracked2 automatically adjusts and sets the scrape points when you load the TRK file."

It would seem to me that the thing to do is see how a truck responds in game, then adjust from there.

The "automatic" scrape points in TrackEd2 were waaay to high... however, I used BinEdit's Truck Editor feature to successfully set the scrape points. Thanks! :D

YES!

I designed that feature and my son did all the program writing... not to blow any horns here... i'm just happy that someone used it with good results. :)

It's truly great... plus, the fact you can move axles and tires and stuff in real time is excellent. The other day, when I was struggling to get the axles in the right place on my new ST project, I was like "why do I have to do this in the TRK file? Why hasn't anyone come up with a program where I can simply input numbers or something and see the changes on my truck in real time?" and it turns out that the excellent new Binedit feature, that does that very thing I wanted, was under my nose the whole time...
