I wish to very belatedly thank Mal, Phin, CHILLIN, Team Death, GuitarBill, various "Old" people, "Slo" people, Zoon and far too many more to name or even remember, for their countless hours of amazing work that gave me even more hours of adrenalin soaked enjoyment.

Have the old timers given up on making tracks that you could actually race on? The new content here seems to be mainly the painfully misnamed "Drag" tracks.

Oh well, sorry for the rant, as Cher once said, "If I could turn back time..."

Thanks for the compliments.

All the circuits on the download page for this year have been made by the older players, with the exception being levi who has been learning his way. Whynni (aka Emma), psyco, mumhra and myself all with a showing. And let's not forget MOB Warrior too. I agree its not like it once was but the quality is generally very good, and there are more in the works. And let's not be too hard on the drag guys; they have their fun too. Would I like to see more circuits and rallies? Yes, but a handful of people can only do so much. So, I keep pointing people to the beginning

On behalf of Team SLO I also thank you, dgt. :) As for your question about whether or not MTM racing is dead, I think SP's tourneys are proof positive it's not. However, random, day-in/day-out pick-up races are indeed tough to come by nowadays. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me it simply comes down to changes in my personal life that's made it extremely difficult to participate in what I think is the greatest racing game in the world (bar none) the way I used to. When I do get time, I still like to fire up a few tracks and run them offline, but by no means does it compare to the "old days" when I'd get together with other friends and teammates for a three to four hour session of hardcore racing. Those times are long gone, and most likely we'll never see that kind of participation again, but I for one will always cherish the memories forged from being apart of the MTM community, so for me this game/place will never die.

As for tracks, yeah you don't see a lot of new circuits/rallies/rumbles nowadays, but boy 'o boy are there a lot of great ones out there already! I love tracks, and I love being a part of the process of making tracks, but in my opinion with all the tracks in existence to date, how could anyone possibly be bored lol. I know where you're coming from, however. Still, if you haven't done so already, check out a few tracks made in years gone by. My guess is you'll happen across a few you've never seen, which in essence, makes it a "new" track. ;)

Been awhile Copey, Phin... Was chating with Mouse the other day and he told me OLD Team was getting back together. Well were both back, must agree with ya that times have changed. Talk about spending hours lol.. used to go to bed with my eyes tearing we were on so darn long... those were some fun racing days. Must admit I have a pretty thick layer of dust on the old game CD.. hope the darn thing loads for me... talk soon be safe guys..

Hi dgt.

Yes, times sure have changed, but dead? never lol. The memories of those hours and hours of fun gaming will always stay in the forefront of my memory and other i am sure.

As Cope said the day in/day out pickup of games are rare however this game will never die in my eyes.

There is still a handful that wish to tourney each weekend so they turn up i host. The numbers arent what they used to be but many still love this old game. There are hundreds of tracks to choose from as well as a few new ones that come out and its still exciting when a new one is listed :)

Thought I'd take a look see how this place is doin. It'd be a shame for people to stop with MTM. I might take a look at working some new stuff into the game for a track. Been doing my games degree over the last couple of years and I reckon I could get a lot more into a level than I used to

I wouldn't say it's "dead" either. People still make tr?cks and have fun with it. Some say it's "stupid" or "dorky" compared to for example Flatout/2. No way. So what if it's not as detailed? It's 1.6 billion times as easy to make new tracks and vehicles. Heck, I'm working on a new track now as we speak.

(Although the forum seems to have slowed down to a crawl lately.)

It seems I spoke too soon. Quite a few good new circuits have shown up since starting this thread. Thanks guys! (You know who you are).
Its good to know the ole game still has some life in it.
See ya on the track! In my rear view window!
