I installed an ATI Radeon 9550 Saturday, and it worked perfect. Then Sunday I was looking at something with Google Earth and my screen went black & the lights at the bottom of my monitor started flashing. So I restarted my pc, now when I open MTM2, Evo1, Flatout demo, etc. the screen looks like there's lines & triangles flashing in the picture. I hadn't changed anything from the way it was Saturday during the tournies when the picture was perfect. Any ideas?

have you reinstalled the drivers

or taken it out of the slot and put it back in

here are some Omega ATI drivers and they have fixed any errors that i have had http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=Files&go=cat&dwn_cat_id=14&go=giveme&dwn_id=310

or have you tried updating to the newest catalist 6.7 drivers

or try rolling them back to the driver version you had

Seems there are issues with ATI and SP2

http://forum.mtm2.com/viewtopic.php?t=4395

It could be that the reboot caused a rollback. You might reinstall the drivers, or look for updated drivers. I have no experience with the drivers trackster's suggesting but it couldn't hurt to read up on them.

the drives is suggested are the offical drivers but they are custom tweaked and they unlock some options for different graphics cards

i use them my self right now and i went back to the offical ones and it caused me problems

they are also good for over clocking but i dont over clock cause it is in a laptop but there is an option when you install them to turn over clocking off

Is it ok to re-install my video driver over the existing driver? I know that works for most programs, but wasn't sure about drivers.

i have with mine but you may wanna just uninstall your current drivers and then restart (weird colors) and then install the new ones

or you can just install over them (i guess you can try that first)

Well it seems to be working again for now. I went to the ati website and dl'd Catalyst 6.9, everything seems back to normal for now.

I tried re-installing the driver, but that didn't help. I don't know why or what goofed up when I was using Google Earth, that's when I started having problems.

If it's working, maybe the thing to do is create a restore point so you can always get back to this stage.

Restore point would be good. I'd just have to write the date down somewhere, otherwise I'd forget.

I know with my restore points Scatter, if you manually create a restore point it asks you to type in a description and it will automatically put in the date and time.

Right, but even with the description, you need to remember the date you created it. No biggie though, I've got a neat little program for jotting down notes called TurboNote. It's like having sticky notes on your screen.
