 Post subject: Is there an easy way to create a map?

Sorry about all these questions but heres another. Is there a way to create a map not just of the track but one that includes buildings & other things within the track? I would like to include a detailed map in the zip of the track I am working on.

I'm not sure I understand the question. What do you mean by "one that includes buildings & other things within the track"?

Have you done Traxx School?

The term 'map' has unfortunately turned into a generic one for all game levels but I believe old ben here means a literal picture or map of a completed track.

Firstly ben, you might check out the PDF packed inside rocketalces Castle Nugget track, which is one of the most impressive and should read 'readmes' of any track (even if it is in that Pretty Danged Foul format). In that January 2005 edition of Moose Week magazine he included some nice maps based on Traxx screnshots if I'm not mistaken.

You can also make use of the <a href=http://mtm2.com/~trackville/gold.htm target=gold>Gold Mode</a> features to fly above your track and take screenshots of course.

But I suspect what you really want is what <a href=http://forum.mtm2.com/viewtopic.php?t=2615 target=tv>TrackView GL</a> can provide. Examples include almost every track preview shot on the download pages.

<a href=http://mtm2.com/~trackville/minimaps/tv2.htm target=wild>HERE</a> are some wide TVGL shots I took of the most highly developed terrain ever, and that doesn't even show the models.

Easy? Maybe not. All of these methods require some photo-paint skills to turn into a map.

Wint is right (as usual...): for the CastleNugget map I pasted Traxx screenshots together.

The reason for not using Trackview was that it does not properly display objects textures, at least not on my system. Because large buildings are the main points of orientation in that track, I resorted to use traxx screenshots.
