What do you mean "they" don't work ?

And here's a tip. Fixmore 4 is the most up to date fix pod.

Seems for a lot of people the 2.1 update file didn't work. Dunno why, but I'm not gonna give it the time of day to find out.

I dont like the fix pods because they remove the train effects and those are one of the things i loved about mtm2, when i was younger those train effects used to make my heart pound while i was racing farm road

Too bad, I heard the update makes the game look really good

Most people perfer to not hear the trains rather than hear train horns on moving car traffic and street lights (which are technically non moving trains so that you get the light shead)

If you would like the horn noises back but would like to keep the other fixall patches then get the C-POD program:
http://ch.mtm2.com/c-pod/c-pod.php

Use C-POD to open the pod file.

Then search the File listbox for "horn"
it should find some sort of .wav file
double click the file name and click Play to play a wav file
the new train wav file will not make a sound. therefore it will seem like the 'play' button doesnt do anything when you find the train horn wav file.
when you find the train horn double click on it again and click "rename"
it will warn you that you should know what you are doing if you are going to rename a file.
rename it to something like horn.bak or hornback.wav etc.

somone here can probably tell you the exact filename.

Just so there is no confusion -- the Madness 2.1 Project is NOT a patch or an "update" any more than any add-ons are. It's simply a collection of custom tracks and trucks (plus a 6mb icon library that you're left to figure out what to do with) showcasing the work of Alpine and ONaN.

It's distributed as an installer (.exe) that drops four pods and an .icl file into a folder. The tracks look to be mostly Alpine's (I think it should be noted that the track selection pictures feature photos of mostly naked women in lingerie and thongs). The trucks are a collection of customs as well as stock trucks remade with extra complexity (these trucks do in fact replace the stock trucks).

As for fix-pods, I don't like the train horns (tr-horn*.wav) to be missing either Slayer, I never have (and I've never liked those trains on a stick that people like to think of as streetlights either). But C-pod is indeed the answer to that, easily allowing you to customize your own fix-it pod.

But how do u actually use those pods, the 2.1truck2.pod file i used to replace truck2.pod (in pod.ini) and put the madness(w/e the name was).pod file at the top. no matter how i move them around, i get the mtm2 error complaining about missing files.

It sounds like you have a bad pod.ini, perhaps you're not including the full path to the pods (subfolders and all). Put the two pods listed below in your mtm2 folder and use this ini:

Code:
7
MADNESSPROJECT.POD
2.1TRUCK2.POD
startup.pod
music.pod
sound.pod
cockpit.pod
ui.pod

I don't know about the missing files because I haven't dug that far into this pack. However, the train horn sound is an easy fix. Just mount the sound.pod above everything else, and put whatever version of the fix you're using, tho I recommend fixmore4, second in the list, right underneath the sound.pod. Sure saves a lot of fuss and bother as far as I can see it.

Thats exactly what i did, it didnt work.
I'll try the sound pod thing, I also noticed the fix pods tend to make mtm1 tracks from game.pod, fail to load with complaints about the background. Is there an easy way to fix that aswell?

Sorry Slayer, it works for me so I dunno what's going on there.

Do you NOT have the stock track pods mounted when this occurs? If so the answer may lie on the second part of: <a href=http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Corridor/9018/fixes.htm target=fix>this old webpage</a>

(the mtm to mtm2 fix-it listed there was absorbed into fixmore long ago)
