Sly's Flats by SlyFox, (7/10/99 TOC track)

this track dates back to october of '98 and is a remake of his popular mtm1 track by the
same name...

Just like the name implies this is a very flat track and uses all stock textures some of which are a bit miss aligned but no biggie, there is no scenery to speak of or any models except for a few shrubs, a
couple adobe houses, some signs to point you in the general direction you need to be heading and some pesky barrels. the road surface is missing sections in some area's but then the road just seems to be there for looks and not intended to be the actual course and he explains his reasons
behind this in his read me txt.. the effects of the flat barren terrain remind me a lot of the Arizona or California deserts, very realistic looking..
the comp trucks are useless here and easily could have been tweaked much better, but then this is one of those tracks that was only intended for online racing and this to me is what makes it stand out, 80+% of it is wide open, plenty of room for side by side racing, and there is no real danger to speak of here it seems whoever wins on this track is the one who was able to maintain the highest top speed though the corners. this is one of a very few tracks that you can use the 2000 gear setting on and maintain 90 / 100+ mph pretty much though out the course...

this is a very fun track for online racing with your buddies..

also this is a very good track to experiment and learn basic subtle turning techniques on, also the effects of different tire and suspension set ups because there are no bumps its just the truck, the road and your controller...

good lap times are well under 1:30

oh ya, crank up the music for some 38 Special

and you can find this track at the AXE Team Site (track reviews)

This track is fast and flat ... time to set it to 2000 shallow!!!! Chosen as the MTMA Tournament track on 7/10/99, this promises to be a lot of fun. A remake of the MTM1 classic, this track is a big download (probably because of the music soundtrack ... so crank it up!!) but worth it ..
