I was just trying to make some custom textures in Photoshop/Traxx.

However, when I copied the texture and tried to paste them into TXX ("paste composite" command), the box that should have shown a preview of the texture only showed gray, and when I moved the yellow grid (preview of texture slices), a copy of it remained.

When I typed in a texture name and clicked OK, I got the famous "Traxx has encountered an error" message.

The thing is, it only happens with this particular texture; if I copy something else and use Paste Composite, it works fine.

Please don't link me to a slicing program. I don't know how to use them and the one that comes with Traxx gives a preview and all that.

Thanks for any help.

Check list
  • BMP
  • 256 colors (aka indexed)
  • No layers
  • At least 64x64 or 256x256 in size

Can you think of anything else?

Not much, but... can you believe that I fixed the problem?

And I'll say to anyone who'll listen how to fix the problem.

This goes for a texture that will not display altogether AND textures that appear in the list in halves, or at least broken up (hard to explain.)

Go into Photoshop or whatever. See the check list above. Save it to a .bmp. Open it in Paint (Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>Paint). Select all. Copy to TRAXX (Paste Composite). It should work okay.

I don't know what causes this.
