:!: The repaint of a repaint of a great truck by Slickster :!:

Hello, Sorry if this seams like a secound upload...Anyways its changed for the NTNT 3rd season, witch ill signing up for..sent my sign up for season a little to late.

:!: _Changes_ :!:
The colors are still very loud, just the way i like them.

Lets goto the front section first. The chevey logo was changed to green, and the headlights i aded little smudges of grey, to make them look like they where bulted in.

Hood. Beacuse i am canadian, i decided to change the lucas oil thing. although i liked the look of it, the flag is better. The fire stone writing was changed yellow.

Sides. Firestone writing there was also changed yellow. The name deceration was changed also, It was orginaly for the truck that i am still trying to get to work...its just not coroperating. I put the NTNT logo under the name. (And not NTNT i dont mean for you guys to Eat Dirt :D ) Kept the odd little logos under that...to make the truck look a bit more important? 8) Moving to the back side, as you an see i added the little truck, orignaly from geart lock hart s(spelling?) Aces high. I call it mini Dirt. , moving to the name. T.KOCH, again from the truck i was trying to make. I think it looks better.

Back. Still in orange, i aded mtm2.com for one of my sponsers (thank you Phineus, I should have asked for this truck, it was going on the one i built...But yeah..) Also another NTNT logo for the heck of it. The licence plate i kept the same, i dont know whats wrong with it but it has some purple and two yellow stripes.

Tires. Kept the rims the same, just aded a small little orange stripe, inspired by the lazyness of pit workers of nasscar who keep the little sticker on the tires, i just think it looks spiffy. I changed the grey dots on the tire to yellow...Kinda got bored there.

Otherstuff. Alright..I changed most of the frame to a black, but the inside of the body is still yellow, it looks grey in the picture beacuse my computer just dosent like frame color changes or something.

You may have to un pod, Or deleat the other version of this truck, due to i didnt want to change the file names for one reason, i tryed and it really messed up. Turned the tire yellow and blue...it looked kinda funny.

Well that ends my self review of the truck. I hope you enjoy, and if i do make it into the NTNT world finials 3, i will gladly take ideas for a special paint job for it...Do to I am fresh out of ideas.
Thanks for reading!
Keep MTM2`ing!

Tony, Eat Dirt owner and opperater

Just so there's no confusion. This is the truck E.D. is talking about.

http://mtm2.com/~trucks/truckpic.cgi?thistruck=4599

And this is (one of) the trucks it's based off of.

http://mtm2.com/~trucks/truckpic.cgi?thistruck=1317
http://mtm2.com/~trucks/truckpic.cgi?thistruck=2372

By Slick.

http://mtm2.com/~trucks/trucks.cgi?s=Slickster

However, I cannot emphasize enough that you MUST use unique file names. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY is going to delete a truck because you made something that has name conflicts. It's not going to happen. You must use unique names. You cannot leave the old names the same. I highly recommend that you solve this file naming thing and then reupload when it's working.

Let's review. To make a truck, you must

Paint the textures it needs.
Save the textures using a unique name.
Convert the textures to ACT and RAW format.
Rename the bin(s) you are using.
Replace the texture names in the renamed bin file(s).
Rename the trk file.
Update the trk file with the information you want for your truck.

Optionally, you can

Paint the tire textures.
Save the tire textures using a unique name.
Convert the tire textures to ACT and RAW format.
Rename ALL the bins in the set of tires.
Replace the texture names in ALL the renamed tire bins.
Make sure the trk file calls for the tires by using the base name.

If you do that, it will work.

Hey, sounds good, haha...thanks for the plug. Just a reminder, in BinEdit, press the "i" key (aka i for information, to me) and check to see that your truck is under 1400 vertices...it's a rule in the league for less lag in online play. I noticed the driver model inside the truck and that usually means too many vertices. Just wanted to save you the trouble. Thanks.

Every dog has his day, This one just got it :D
Only 1294 verts!.
On another note, Is any one having troubles with the truck?

I'm getting an error.

"Can't find ED16l.bin"

I'll take a look at it.

(later)

Your TRK file calls for a tire set called "ED". but the tire set included in the pod file is called "EQLZ".

I'll change the tire name in the TRK and try it.

Nope. EDAXLE.BIN is missing. it too is listed in the TRK file.

I'll try podding it with a stiock axle.

Nope. I'll have too look deeper, and let you know what I find.

Can I make one suggestion in the meantime? Place your CREDIT.TXT file in the zip archive alongside the pod file, and not within the pod itself. The majority of folks who will download it will not know how to access files within the pod.

Gonna get my hands greasy now.....report later.

OK, it would appear that a couple of wheel textures are also missing.

Take care of these 3 items and repod it, and it should be error free.
--------------------------------------------------

1. Change the tire model name in the TRK file to "EQLZ" (or include all the bins and RAW/ACT files for the "ED" wheel set.

2. Add the "EDAXLE.BIN" axle model AND it's RAW and ACT files to the pod.

3. Add the following tire texture files to the pod (skip this step if you use the ED tire set)

714EQLZW.raw
714EQLZW.act

714EQLZ2.raw
714EQLZ2.act

I tried podding it using stock wheels and axles, and it worked fine.

Good luck, and don't forget to move the credit text file to the zip.

----------------------------------------------------------------

OPTIONAL:

I remapped your wheel textures in the POD to Slick's wheels, so I was able to reproduce your tire models.

I can assemble your truck for you for now, until you get the building techniques down. The only item I don't have is your custom axle texture.

SO....

I can put it together for you using slick's axles

or

You can send me your axle textures, and I'll assemble it for you.

or

You can make another attempt to correct the errors.

Let me know which road you wish to take. Here's the current repaired version of EAT DIRT with slick's axles...It should be error free now.
