What can't read the trk file? The game, cpod, winpod? Are you getting any messages that can help clue us in.

Note. No spaces allowed in file names, and a trk file can only be 19 characters long. Oh, and you should use a text program like notepad or editpad. Using wordpad or a word processor usually saves in the wrong format.

My note pad doesn't work properly either. I highly recommend editpad. It's freeware and it works brilliantly. I've been using it several years now and I don't think I'd use anything else. Give it a try.

There's a few other things that could be causing problems too, so let us know how it goes.

Zip it up and email it to me. If there's something obvious I hope I can pick it out quickly enough, and I'll let you know what I find.

First. Take the space out of your pod file name. That'll always cause you problems. No spaces allowed.

Now, for the trk file. Three minor things.

<table width="90%" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3" border="0"><tr><td class="quote">MTM2 truckName
Eat-Dirt
truckModelBaseName
95ran.bin
tireModelBaseName
BLADE
axleModelName
i2kaxle.bin
shockTextureName
shock2.raw
barTextureName
BLACK.raw</td></tr></table>
Adding the ".bin" to the truck name will get rid of the messages if you are using cpod.

For the tire base name, you don't need to include the size and side numbers. That is, the stuff like 08L, 08R, 10L, 10R, 16L, and 16R are not part of the "base" name so you don't include those things in the trk file.

Last, file names should be unique. So, names like black.raw are guaranteed to conflict with other stuff. Names like 95ran and i2kaxle are generally much better.

For your errors, tho, it was the space in the pod file name, and the tire name that caused the problems. Soon as I fixed those up, it worked like a charm. And a pretty good job you've done so far, too.

Most times you can use the stock texture, but occassionally you'll want something to match your truck. It's nice to have the choice.

You haven't said how you're podding the truck. I assume cpod because that's the best one. If there's something wrong, it should give messages to clue you in. Don't ignore those messages, they're important. If you're podding the truck a different way, then you'll have to say what it is.

For now, all I can suggest is that you double check all the files are in the correct folders.

Oh, and when the game refuses to start up, always check the close program box (ctrl+alt+del) and make sure mtm isn't running. If it is, stop it before trying to run it again.

You do have the patch installed, right? Too many pods can cause problems, but the patch raises the number you can use to 99.
