There were many versions of evo. These are most of them.

  • 4x4 Evolution (the original evo1)
  • Evo SE (there was more than one special edition)
  • Evo2
  • Jeep evo2
  • Jeep evo2 trail edition
  • Canadian Jeep evo2

Not sure if it counts:

I remember seeing a while ago a patch made by someone over at KC's that made Rally evo. I can't remember all the details but it was cool.

As for mtm3 we can only dream. If one day I was to see Mtm3 on a shelf somewhere with TRI somewhere on the box I would jump to buy it.

we know theres not gonna be an evo3, so there most likely wont be an mtm3...

although some games seem to die out, yet 10 years later the company, or some other company, makes a remake of the game out of nowhere by surprise.

some of the things that could have made mtm2 better were more curved terrain, farther draw distance, accurate complex objects, and a vegetation system.

there are people who make mods out there, so youll never know what will happen next. mtm2 has a few cool extra programs on it like trackview, which i so desperately need for evo2 ;)

>> and a vegetation system.

I never really liked the vegetation system in evo. In some tracks, vegetation helps, in others it doesn't. I don't really look at alot of tracks on evo because my main interest lies in mtm, but some of them i've seen should not have vegetation. Vegetation is always available in mtm.

ive discovered ways to make it look more real. such as making duplicates of tiles the i already set to have vegetation, so i can use duplicated without vegetation. if i dont want the ground vegetation to go along with the randomized trees, i just remove it after i randomize the trees. you can also custom size ground vegetation (as well as the trees). it does let you move the trees (best doing this with the alternate viewmode (K) and using the mouse), but it only lets you move one tree within the area of the red square. and i like how the max trees you can have on a track is 20000.

but really its all about graphics compatability. even if this was made possible in mtm2, it would probably crash the game.

but like how im learning about traxx, its great to know about editors for other games too. when i was editing for evo1, before i started for evo2, i thought both editors were pretty much the same, except for the 3000 max objects. then i realized evo2 has tons of new stuff that evo1 doesnt have (such as the 20000 max trees).

problem is, even evo2 cant handle its limits! max air released RTMAC and i believe it had 3000 objects, or close to it, and if you have a high draw distance on, some of the objects disappear if theres too many in one area. happened to one of the tracks i made, sadly.

but i think mtm3 would be cool, if it was ever made. it could mix some of the features it already has with some of the cool graphics on evo2. combine those together and you have one cool game!
