OK, here's the deal. I know squat about monstertrucks, MTM2 or trackmaking. But, however, i played the first MTM way back when it was first released and i liked alot. I bought the sequal about 2 years ago, but i never really gave it a chance since it looked like the drag tracks where removed (Those were my favorite part in the first game). So i just put it somewhere only to be forgotten...until now. I'm back with a new computer and i just happend to stumble over MTM2 last night. I installed it and dern, it's quite good. But, as i said before, the main problem is still there, no drag tracks. So i jumped on the surfboard and hit the net in search for anything that could satisfy my drag hunger and i ended up here. I searched the track database and downloaded a few drag tracks. And oh yes, they look fantastic. But, too bad tey don't play as good as they look. Basically, the CPU opponent are just taking off at their own will, running into walls or whatever. This happens to all the tracks i downloaded. I don't know if it's me screwing something up or just that CPU AI is hard to make in the editor. So, that's why i'm here. Is there anyway to get the CPU opponent to actually drive the race?

Also, i got another question. There seems to be alot of downloadable content for MTM2, which is great. If my memory serves me right (which it might not), there was some sort of "Tournamet creating option" in the first MTM game. Basically you could pick a few tracks (both regular and drag) and play them all thru and add up the final stats. I think it was a great feature, but again i can't find it in the sequal. So i wonder, is there any mod/plug-in that makes this possible?

Thanks alot.

MTM2 does not support drag races in the same way as MTM1. Allow me to quote a review from the Expo 2003:

Quote:
For those who may not know, drag and replica tracks are fairly realistic courses made and used by hard core fans of the sport of monster truck racing, used to simulate the style of real racing and freestyle events. Due to the way these tracks are built and used, they seldom contain courses or checkpoints and are mostly played in a multiplayer environment, often in leagues. Monster trucks race on two separate but identical courses rather than side by side on the same course, and since MTM2 does not support two separate sets of checkpoints you'll generally need at least three people in a multiplayer game, one of which calls the race start, watches the race to spot penalties, times the lap and determines the winner. These tracks are also used for "freestyle" competitions in which each contestant takes a timed turn showing off their driving skills by making a steady series of jumps and wheelies, crushing cars, flipping or doing just about anything to score points with the judges.

Drags, in MTM2, are a user created race environment. This may, at first, seem inferior to what you're used to, but give it a try and I'm sure you'll come to enjoy it just as much.

As for series and tournaments, there are none in the game. There are, however, many online leagues that should satisify your competitive instincts.

Do not mourn the exclusion of these modes of game play. One of MTM2's strengths is user centered play, which includes building addons (tracks and trucks) and inventing modes of game play that were never envisioned by the developers, modes including CNR (cops 'n robbers), RnR (race 'n rumble), tag, free roam, etc. You name it, this game can incorporate it. Freedom is what MTM2 is all about. Restrictions and limitations are for others. In MTM2, there is room for everything and everybody.

Thanks for the quick reply.

So MTM2 doesn't support two sets of checkpoints, that's ashame. So basically racing on time against computer opponent is out of the question then?

Anyways, i got another problem. I've downloaded a few new trucks, but there seems to be a little problem. When choose my truck and start the race, i get an error message. Something in the lines of:

An unexpected error has occured, process can not be complete or something like that.

What's up with that?

only for drag tracks.

Since you haven't provided enough detail, my guess would be you're getting the "can't environment map model" error, in which case just turn off truck reflections in graphic options. If that's not it, see if you can find the message here.

I made a drag track that has check points. It's a j hook called drag 98 i believe. However. the computer only follows the course 50% of the time cause u cant make the computer follow different corses based on where they start. There's no crush cars either. just cause i wanted to prove u could line up the cps to work on that shaped track.
