It happens over and over again: I want to go to MTMG, click the logo in the upper left corner and end up at the forum index (which can also be reached through the labeled link just below).
So I have to go into my bookmarks, selecting the MTMG bookmark
through 3 subdirectories ... what a pain (lol).
Ok, I'm lazy but shouldn't the mtmg logo link to mtmg? :D

Did I miss this post? I don't think most forums set up for external host links like that. It's done within the script so I don't have a ton of control over it, tho I suppose I could always hack it. btw, I just put my frequent links closer to hand.

In the meantime, I really came here to test the auto link thing

A direct link to MTMG would be nice to have here......

I think ZONE OUTKASTS have such a link to the home page from the forum.

ZO has a very sophisticated site. It's set up as a portal and uses a first rate commercial package. This, here, is just a forum. True, anything can be hacked to force it to do what you want, but with a new phpbb in the offing I want to hold off before making any drastic changes - they might already be contained in the update. That said, this will always be just a forum, probably. For us, forcing all our sites into one template would rob us of the collective individuality that has been a hallmark of everything we've been doing. Instead, we'll bide our time to check out the new version (personal avatars are one thing I want to see fixed, font faces are another) and if that doesn't work out, I'll start hacking it like I did the ubb... and keep on hacking it until we're so far obsolete again we'll resist change until we're forced into it. At least, that's the current plan. What actually ends up happening is anybody guess :-)
