it's been a long time since I installed this but I believe it needs to run from your mtm2 directory and you will probably need the mdmre support files in there as well... anyway it's a pretty simple program to use once you've done it a couple times...

after you start up the program then click the convert palette button the window below comes up...

if your act file is in your mtm2 directory it will show up in the right hand column after you check the 'convert act to pal' box, now just click the act file to highlight it then type in the name for the new pal file to be created in the lower left dialog box (be sure to add the .pal extention at the end), then click the create button... the saved pal file will be in your mtm2 directory

creating act files is done in the same manner

ahhh... that I don't know.

I create all my palettes in psp 5... then mdmre's pc to create a act... it just doesn't get any easier, but then that's probably because it's the only way I've ever done it lol

What do you need leg? We've found just about every work around you could think of when it comes to palettes. If I knew more what you were trying to do....

im converting a vehicle from another game. i can get the mesh and the graphics. the grahpics are encripted but open as a raw. the problem is, its greyscaled and the the pallette for the game is unfound as of yet. so i need to make an appropreiate pallette for the raw.

Oh, I see. The first thing I'd suggest is to use METALCR2.ACT (it's actually a very good palette - binedit and txraw both use it as the default). You can get it, along with a couple mtm1 palettes, already converted to pal format here: palettes.zip. If you want to get fancier, you can convert each of the stock truck palettes to see the effect they have on the graphics you're doing, but once you get color in using METALCR2.ACT you can then increase colors to 16 bit and you should be able to adjust anyway you want. Let me know if you need anything else.

It's probably buried in the exe and will never be found.

from what i was reading on the cracking of the gaming code there is 2 pallettes in the graphics, but neither one work 100% with them. and im not sure how to extract the pallettes.
EG: 1 pallette for the tires, 1 for the body. but both body and tires are on the same graphics. lol . i cant say for sure.

but i think your right for the most part phin. the game has many different colors and parts.
