Someone else proposed something along the lines of a racer vs dragger competition a little while back, but I can't recall who it was. I'm all about support for the game. Yes, I'm a racer, but I also rumble, play CNR and RnR, but drags and freestyle never really caught on with me or anyone on our team for that matter. In the Zone there are a few guys that get into drags/freestyle, but only a few; mostly it's racers and rumblers.
What I can tell ya is that racers probably wouldn't be interested in something like this. We have this . . . this thing about going fast, real fast lol, and that's just not what freestyles and drags are about. However, what I'd like to suggest is that maybe you guys give
RnR or
CnR a try. Both are team oriented and neither require that you be a hotshot racer.
As for rumors of cheating, Mal is right - it just doesn't happen. Now, in years gone by some rumblers had programs that would allow them to keep accruing points even if they were off the scoring platform, or would construct trucks that were extremely hard to flip or move . . . all in an effort to win more tournaments. Nowadays rumbling tourneys are pretty much extinct so there's nothing to gain by cheating.
But hey, like you said, even if it doesn't fly there's no harm in trying.
