ü First track of 2003 and Wow! what an incredible job Mal's done. The terrain work is awe inspiring. If this is a sign of what we can expect to see this year then we're going to have a fantastic time. Simply Amazing.

A dismal example of uninspired workmanship that lacks common sense, forethought and any semblance of...whoa, wrong forum. I'm guessing Mal has his monitor in a headlock right now, shouting my name, and a whole bunch of expletives lol. Didn’t mean to alarm ya there, bud, but you have to admit that opening line is quite the attention getter, huh? LOL

As I ease back into the track review process after my extensive holiday break I'm going to be focusing mostly on tracks by newcomers. However, I did want to drop in and congratulate Mal on yet another spectacular track. I've only run it a few times offline, but I'll tell you what, it's basically more of the same; intelligent use of models - never over or underdone, attention to detail that's second to none, exceptional texture work, and a superb layout.

Mal has a knack for producing tracks with something you have to figure out. This one seems to be based on EVO 2’s “Motocross”, but the significant difference is how he set it up to make speed integral to correctly timing the rhythm sections. I’ll tell ya right now, it’s not the kind of track you’ll jump on and nail down after only 3 or 4 laps. The pace of this track is pretty intense, which is somewhat unusual for an SX style track, but he's worked it to perfection, making it a thriller of a ride!

I haven't gone over this one with my high-powered, battery-operated, Micron microscope (got it out of a box of Capt'n Crunch lol) since my focus for now is on tracks by newcomers. But hey, this is a Malibu creation, and I've put enough of his tracks thru the "Copey Rating" system to know what to expect. If you happen to be jumping in on the scene late and you’re not quite sure what all the rave is about with respect to this track…or any track by Malibu, I highly recommend sampling his collection of works. Afterwards come back here and tell us whatcha think.

Nifty things about Momentum X:
- The MTMG helicopter (would really look good if it had my pic on it lol)
- The miniature banners along both sides of the track…especially the “Got Rhino” one lol
- The dips, curves, elevation change ups…great flow to this one
- The speeeeeeeed
- Great texture work (typical)

Great stuff, Mal - really awesome work! Oh hey, “Momentum X” is the feature track in this weekend’s Fast Lane , so if you’re looking to try it online with a few of us die-hard racers, come on out and join in on the fun!

I tell ya what, I just got this track in preparation for the next "Fast Lane" and got done runnin it a few times (actually, a lot, hehe), and all I can say is...very well done! Oh man, I dig this one. Not often you get a track with a lot of elevation change that really runs as smooth and fast as this!!

Excellent project Malibu! Another fine effort to add to a great arsenal of tracks.
