a few questions...

Post by Plazma »

Okay, I have a logitech Steering wheel and pedals, but no matter what I do, I can't get full throttle with my pedal set-up. I can get about 5,500 RPM in neutral, that's it. ANybody experienced this problem before?

Also, for some reason, every time i run MTM2, I have to re-enter all of my controls, display, sound and game settings, but my garage settings, records, truck and track selection are just as I left them. what the heck?

Anybody got any ideas?

thanx,
Plaz

The controls, display, sound and game settings are stored in monster.ini, the garage settings, records, truck and track selection are not. So, you might make sure monster.ini is not set to 'read only' (on the file properties tab), you can also try exiting the game after adjusting the settings (which should ensure the settings are written to disk) then restart to play.

Make sure you dont hav esomething stuck under your petals heh, if ur not using the correct device drivers for your pedals, you should still have the calibrate button in your control panel options for game controlers. if you do have the correct drivers than usually the calibrate button disappears and your screwed in that area.

Ive personally noticed when i use analoge with my pad i get the full RPM range, but with the digi part it comes short about 500 RPMS. Its probably just random crap in the game. Gotta admit, MTM2 has a lot of random crap in it (access violations, "have mark increase box count" (lol), cannot evirn model, the list goes on and on).

I'll try checking the "read only" thing. This is a brand-new computer running a ten-year-old game, so I expected a few quirks. (actually, I didn't expect it to run at all).

I fixed the steering wheel problem. This was an experiment. See, my wife gave me the wheel as a present a few years ago... for my Playstation 2. Yes, that's right, a PS-2 steering wheel works on your computer. Force-feedback and all. But to get full-throttle on it, I had to do the calibration for the pedals by pressing down the throttle ONLY. Doing that, I have full brakes and full throttle. SWEET! Now I have MTM2 on a 19" flat screen with full graphics accelleration (triple buffer), full 5.1 home-theatre surround sound and force-feedback steering wheel and pedals. My computer gaming dreams have come true!. NASCAR also rocks on this setup. I run my sound card into my SONY home theatre setup. Crank that sucker up, set the FF for MAX, and you are THERE!

Thanks for yer help,
Chris
