problem
i have a little problem with the positioning of shocks on a truck...there is a little space between the shock and the custom axle...circled in the pic below:

i found out that the truck uses shock2.raw for the texture, but not have been able to figure out the model that is used for the shock. if anyone has a fix for this, it would be greatly appreciated.

theres a way you can move the shocks down in the TRK file. not exactly sure where but im pretty sure you can do that. or you can move them down in binedit. Load the bin file and select all the vertices that go with the shocks and then just move em down a lil.

go into the TRK file and whatever is under the truckModelBaseName is the file you used.

There is a gap there, and that is on every truck, even the stock ones. Only way to get rid of it is to build a box around it to cover it up.
Check out the axles on my Rat Poison truck, it has boxes on it to cover that up, the stock shock textures are set centered on what ever axle you use, so no matter what, if you use a shorter axle than stock, that will show.
There are many ways of hiding it tho, just be creative.

There is no model for the mtm2 shocks that change length. They are built into the game so they can not be changed as of now. They just stretch to within a certian distance of the center of the axle. If the axle isnt thick enough then the shocks wont reach.

The location of the shock ends, or overall length of the shocks is generated by the game based on the Y location of the wheels, 6 inches above absolute center for the bottom, and for the top ends of the shocks, that's determined by where the centerline (Y=height) of the truck body.
You cannot directly edit the shock model itself, except by raising and lowering the wheels or truck body model.
The easiest fix for the truck you're working on would be to open the axle model your truck uses with binedit and resize it's Y and Z dimentions (height and length) a little bit then save it with a NEW name and edit the Axle Model Name line of your trk file accordingly.
If you use binedit's truck editor it will display the shock end locations exactly the same as the game renders them so you'll know what your going to get before you try out the pod.
