Blinking bar while racing

Post by DRT_49 »

Maybe some of you have had this problem and know how to fix it. When I enter a race I have no problems, but when I hit the gas, I get a blinking bar across the top of the screen (the menu bar turning on and off over and over again)

It's starting to tick me off a bit.....

Any ideas on getting rid of it?

i sometimes get that too, especially when somethign is actively running in the background (i.e. a viruscan or something) when the program ends or i close it, the blinking usually goes away. but sometimes i get the bar when nothing is actively running, so i just hit the finder on and off a few times and it goes away, same can be said when i change views a few times. hope this helps.

Yeah if I have anything running in the background it will blink like that until I close the program in the background.

Mine never did this BEFORE, but this is a fresh install on my new PC. I may have to start running it on the crappy PC. The new one might be too fast...or maybe my desktop is set at too high a resolution?

ive had similar problems, i do miss running it on my old PC, the 200 mhz, but it only runs correctly on windows 95 and as of about a year ago, zone started blocking windows 95 PC's from getting into lobbies.

the game is a lot less buggy at 30 fps as opposed to 300 fps, for one u rarely get stuck on your face/rear or get stuck on models.

a down side is the dern flickering, especially with the "fixed" backdrops

you'd think MS coulda fixed that before releaseing the game, rather than just rigging a "flicker reduction" option that seems to do nothing.
