Why the backdrop repeats itself? and how can I fix it?

When "reflections" is selected in the graphics options AND there is water in the track, the backdrop will mirror itself at the horizon like that. The solution is to turn off "reflections" (and lose the nice reflective water) OR to not use water in a track. Personally, I like the reflective water too much to turn off reflections for <i>any</i> reason. I also refuse to put water in a track where I don't want the backdrop messed up.
