Chat script here?!?!?

What you guys think about adding a chat script here? i think it would be a great idea, more popular than zone most likely, also more honorable peopel chat here, jsut a thought. Lets see what cha' got. =)

Just my opinion... but judging things by KC's experience, a chat facility on a forum site does not seem to work. (not the mechanics, just the demand). Seems like most folks like to go into the game sites (be it the Zone or Evo) and get their "chat jollies" that way. Makes sense - at least you know you have an audience with a common interest - and an immediate response.
In conclusion, I'd say not worth the trouble to the site host to set up and maintain [(-:]

First, kc's chat is java / irc based. I had one like that on the old evo forum but didn't know enough to keep lamers from messing it up. The trick would be to make it independent of irc networks and make it so you could launch the game from in the chat. It can be done, but I don't know how... at least at this stage of things. But I do see how it could work well. Tourneys or private racing, with the added benefit of no ads.

hmmm,,, if the eventual aim of the excercise is a chat/game connection then that makes a big difference (to me) - an alternative to the Zone maybe?.
Chat per sé seems to be another ballgame on it's own - not that I have anything against chat programs - I use them profusely.

I've just read the last couple replies from Vipa and Attitude before posting this and I say... hey the majority rules. If Phin and Mal are willing to go for it, why not? - could be fun

I haven't dug deeply but if I was searching for chat scripts, I'd begin here. If somebody wants to sample a few, maybe even ask the authors about game launches.....

Also, I've been thinking about the affiliate links too. A closed circuit web ring might be a better way to go. Not much to choose from tho.
