Replacement game helicopters

Post by ZOtm_BigDOGGe »

(originally posted in the BETA room, but it wasn't getting any responses, so I moved it to this room)

I'm trying something I THINK is fresh....replacements for the stock 2-rotor rescue helicopter in MTM2.....

I created a set of 4 new heli models...only pod one at a time AT THE TOP of your POD.INI file to install them.....you can place all 4 PODs in your MTM2 folder with no problems....

1. UFO flying saucer
2. Hughes 500E single-rotor (not the track model)
3. A unique "hover-tow-truck"
4. A cool tilt-rotor aircraft I made from the beechcraft track model.

I tested them on a second computer for errors, ....... let me know if you get one anyway...

check the READ_MEs for any common questions...

I hope you like.....you may place them at your sites for download if you like 'em...

I knew there was something I was forgetting, I sometimes get so caught up with my own projects everything else seems a blur lol...

I'm dl'ing them now, and I must say this is a fresh-new-good idea that will i'm sure will prompt otheres to create more of the same... only down side may be that now Phins gonna have to create a whole new catagory... replica, custom, repaind, rescue vehicle... lol

Excellent work BD... they all work flawlessly, custom sounds and all :P .. I have all four mounted up top and will be alternating them from time to time....

if anyone else decides to give this idea a shot I think a giant hand coming down and picking you up between the thumb and forefinger would be pretty wild to see...

Can these be used to replace the pterodactyl?

I did make one hover-truck that's a Pterodactyl replacement.......it comes with one of my 3 EXPO trucks (available in 21 days!), along with the UFO as a Heli replacement in the same truck pod (this is where I got the idea to create a stand-alone HELI pod).

The problem is.....the audio WAV file is only played intermittently for the pterodactyl, (versus a continuously-playing wav file for the helicopter), so I could not add the same sound affects to it.....I used speech instead ("please remain seated....")

SO, in other words, you could make a new POD so these heli-replacement models work for the pterodactyl too, but not the sound effects.....maybe I can add something and make a new replacement-heli pod that includes a pterodactyl replacement.....lemme think about it.

P.S.

One nice thing about this project.........now I know how to spell pterodactyl by memory.......imagine getting that word in a spelling bee....OUCH!

Dang impressive, DOGGe...I love em! Actually I didn't know what to expect, however, after taking a look-see, they were much better than I anticipated. I've posted a few words about them (plus a link) on our N&U to help spread the word.

Again, great job, bud! :)
