Finally, a free terrain texture slicer that does it all!

Post by Wint »

I just had to bring this up here in this forum, check out <a href=http://mtm2.com/~forum/pages/Forum16/HTML/000060.html>"Slice60 by Terminal Reality"</a> posted by Phineus for the link to the great "new" slicing utility.

I must say Phineus, you did an excellent job on the webpage presentation of this thing, thanks much for your efforts, I helped of course, and so did others, but you da man. Image

This utility is incredible, and truly a "must have" one for all custom texturers.

Nuh uh!
I get a "can't find texture" type of error and i tried everything- i moved the picture around my pc, added and took away "windows" from the c:/windows slice60 'or' c:/slice 60 line, moved slice60, called the program "slice60" and "slice 60" in the texture command line and all combinations i could think of but... pasgbtfy.tga will not load (it is a multiple of 60 and i tried it as a multiple of 64 too)

Troubleshooting

Message : Loading your.tga... Can't open your.tga

- Your file is not in the current folder. Copy it there, or in DOS move to where the image is located.

>>I get a "can't find texture" type of error

What <u>exactly</u> is the message?

>>and i tried everything

Nuh uh!

>>i moved the picture around my pc

Won't do nothing unless you go to it in dos...as explained in the pop up.

>>added and took away "windows" from the c:/windows slice60

If you copied slice60 to \windows\command\ then you don't need to type anything except slice60. Also, your slash is backward.

>>'or' c:/slice 60 line

No spaces allowed. And your slash is backward.

>>moved slice60

Why? Unless you copy it into the same folder as the graphic, this will do nothing for you.

>>called the program "slice60" and "slice 60" in the texture command line

Like above, slice60 is enough. No spaces.

>>and all combinations i could think of

All the combinations in the world will do nothing. Follow the instructions and it will work.

>>but... pasgbtfy.tga will not load

The texture name is too long. Five characters only.

>>(it is a multiple of 60 and i tried it as a multiple of 64 too)

Multiples of sixty only. That's the nature of this beast.
