All moving models in mtm are trains. Therefore, the game will think any model you set to moving is supposed to be a train. And trains move along the ground, so any model you set to moving will also move along the ground.

But. If you use binedit and translate the model upward along the y-axis, then it will 'appear' off/above the ground in the game. I say appear because if you try to drive under it, you'll run into an invisible wall where the model extends downward.

A good place for the basics.

You absolutely must set the program preferences so the art and models folders point to where you have the model files saved. You have to do this or it will crash for ever and ever.

If you want to see 3D view only, you change that from the view menu. You don't have to do this, but if you're like me, I prefer 3D view and only use front/top/side when there's no way around it.

Finally, to get to the point you want, open your model. You don't need to insert. Just open it like you would a text file in notepad.... only it's a bin model in binedit ;-)

After it's open, if you can't see it, goto the menu>view and select zoom to fit. It'll be there.

Then, on the menu, goto model and select translate. Click translate whole model, and numbers are in feet. Leave x and z at zero. Set y to 10 (or however many feet you want to raise it). Click OK and then save.

That's it.
