Help!

Post by EmceeMart »

Big problems this week - I had to reinstall Windows because somebody downloaded a program which ate all my system files. "It wasn't ME, all I did was.... etc"
Anyhow I'm having a problem with a model (a railtrack bridge deck). I have it's height set OK and the properties set to default but the train insists on following the terrain i.e. going under the bridge and up the other side!
In the meantime it looks as though I have to reinstall my video drivers and probably a few other things when I discover whats messed up, but any help with this problem will go a long way to restoring my faltering sanity.

You're sane. ONLY a groundbox can hold up a train.

Emcee that is true I found that models will travel through other models when i built my track The Unknown. Which I had a moving ramp that would appear for a short time then disappear. I used 2d models to hide the areas where the ramp came from and went.

You can only use ground boxes to hold moving models.

Thanks guys. My problem is that the railbridge crosses over groundboxes that form the road surface/roof of a tunnel immediately below it. I suppose I could replace the area of groundboxes below the tunnel with a model (or models) and make the bridge deck from gb's.....mmmmmm, my idea bank is getting overdrawn! Image

Maybe check out Oops;-)'s golly pop or any of his more recent tracks. He's got several areas with multiple driving levels. I'm sure there's something there that can help you out.
