it's something i need to think about. Game assets are copyrighted content, and uploading them in github... not a good idea. Maybe we can add custom axles or wheels that look similar to stock models & art? or add the ability to replace these with your own supplied truck2.pod files? We'll figure it out.
I guess I'll choose first option, adding custom axles and wheels similar to stock models and art is actually a good idea.

OK, got to toy around with it for a bit. It's almost ready I think. So far all the random trucks that I have tested worked great except for two but I have to go back and test the trucks in the game/binedit to see if they look right or not. In the meantime, two things:

1. There are two fake struts (as I like to call them), not 1. See the pictures.

Some truck makers have gone to lengths to place their own struts to match the fake ones. Kmaster, let me know if this shows up in the .trk or if I need to search for it in the code.

2. It's not mandatory but with the community update, the game allows for 2.1 trucks which have an additional axle bar and different combo of tires, as seen here.
https://forum.mtm2.com/viewtopic.php?p= ... xle#p56947

The thread explains how to search for the 2nd axle bar.

Ah, 3rd thing: If you cancel gravity, the bar between the tires moves with the rest of the body, when it should stay together with the tires. Also the fake struts (aka shocks) should lengthen themselves to reach the bar.

Although I would say this 3rd point is just being nitpicky, since the resting ground position is the important one :)

Got it, its on my to-do list. the fake shocks trucks makers do are embedded in the body model it seems.

Oh yeah those are part of the body. The ones I call "fake" are the TRI coded ones which are just the two lines that extend from the body to the bar. They are fixed and cannot be changed, just like the drive shaft.

I'm also toying around to see how to add this to the website.

https://mtm2.com/~trucks/trucks.php

Another thing I realized now, there's no button to hide the warnings (like there is to hide the details).

Ok so on mtm2.com, there's a slight different version of the viewer now in play.
Side note: I have not touched any of the parts that I have mentioned earlier Kmaster, so feel free to work on those when you get a chance.

What I have done for the viewer on mtm2, is I have made it compatible with podzipped trucks and added the shock2 and driveshaft textures.

I haven't had the chance to look into it more but on a quick glance, the extra axle bars on the 2.1 trucks show up with a wrong position.

Tomorrow I'm busy too so I won't get a chance to poke around too much, hopefully Wednesday.

Or rather, I think the middle part is connecting to the wrong position.

Those truck viewer screens, it's looks a lot like the truck select menu from MTM64.

Is this supposed to be a niche little reference, or just pure coincidence?

what does the 200,200,400 exactly mean? I suppose they are units above the original axlebar. it still bugs me that the cylinder model of the 2nd axlebar doesn't immediately go thru the truck body, but this is not a render issue, more like an absolute position problem. maybe the axlebars are not in a 100% correct position.

anyway i did a couple of things:

Captura de pantalla 2026-06-02 a la(s) 7.06.19 p.m..jpg

-added scene lighting with position selector
-added background color selection
-added texture smoothing
-now truck list display the truck name.
-no warning panel if there's no warnings.
-changed default driveshaft color to dark brown
-changed default missing texture solid color to gray
-kept camera position when switching trucks
-added a nice mtmg watermark because why not

pure coincidence  look at these reflections  would be a guaranteed crash in mtm2 hahahah

By the way I always wanted to port the extra MTM64 tracks to MTM2. I wonder if there's any method to tear apart the mtm64 rom and have a look

This is the only MTM64 track that I know of for MTM2...

https://mtm2.com/%7Etracks/details.php?thistrack=1130

Back Tracks, which is basically MTM64's Alpine Challenge, every other track, I doubt anyone else has ever even conceived of. Mind you, it would be cool to simply rip them out of the ROM, convert, then have them in as a niche little update for the Comm Patch, much like with Cale's HD trucks.

Oh I guess you missed the explanation :p

The number is relative to the original axle bar. So whatever numbers get added to the original bar and if they are positive, they go up.

The first 200 is the Y value for the front axle connection.
The 2nd 200 is the Y value for the back axle connection.
The 400 is the Y value for the midpoint connection.

But like I said in the thread, this number was meant as a starting point for truck makers to fine tune the bars position to align correctly.

Is this what you mean by 2nd axlebar doesn't immediately go through the truck body?

If that is what you are referring to, looks correct to me.

So I got to bring in the changes you did to the website version. All good.

There's one thing that is still on my mind, the ability to take a screenshot and save it to .jpg with the current viewport. So that truck makers can have an easier time taking a picture of the truck to upload it to the website. (even though that is being made somewhat redundant by the viewer but alas).

That's pretty much it in terms of what I was hoping to see in a truck viewer, or at least what my original intent was. If you come up with any other crazy ideas or wanna toy around I'll be more than happy to help out with what I can and adapt it to the website.
It's funny btw, I was legit thinking about the ability of changing background colours today and when I came home from work I saw you went ahead and did it :D

Also in the coming weeks when I will have time I'm gonna add a whole segment to the front page and the mtmg with your J-utils.
