MTM2 was one of my favorite childhood games. My brother and I used to have loads of fun modding the game and playing against each other.
I don't have much experience in rust as a programming language and wanted to learn more about it so decided to see if I could replicate the game using Bevy and Avian (originally started with rapier).
This is unashamedly a Claude build, but it got farther than I ever would have thought thanks to the work that Kmaster has done.
It is my own twist with the ui and such, but so far has turned out pretty well. https://github.com/farmergeek94/rural_ruckus
Enjoy. Again major credits to Kmaster.

Re: Bevy/Avian remake of MTM2
Thanks here are a couple more screenshots of different weather effects ect...
I don't really have any huge goal for this project, was more of a wonder if I can build something cool that is able to replicate the MTM2 feel.
So I doubt it is near as close to what MTM2 is as what you have built out, but should still be pretty much one to one compatible with tracks and trucks.
Still trying to get those crazy shape casters to do what I want and sound is just trouble...
