Community Patch #3
Re: Community Patch #3
Can you say a little bit about why shadows load so much more quickly for Dusk weather than for Clear? On these conversions, clear is many, many times as slow as dusk. I'm doing pretty much all of my testing on Dusk weather right now, as it just loads so much quicker, and shadows have to be rebuilt every time one updates a pod.

A little suggestion for Drag Weekends next time, it would be great if there was a text header above the Christmas Tree HUD telling you which round you're currently in (Round 1, Round 2, Semi-Final, Final Round), some occasions I don't even remember which round it is. Monster 4X4: Masters Of Metal had a text header like that.

Re: Community Patch #3
Would you be willing to add a toggle to the advanced graphics menu that turns off shadows cast by terrain for all weathers but leaves all the other new shadows? I'd probably run the game like that most of the time if it was an option.

Also depending on the player when they're racing/wrestling, I know some may prefer no UI during gameplay while some may prefer with some UI during the gameplay, same to be said for replays--at least the instant replays looks incredible the way it is even with very little UI seen during it.

Hey Fila, been a minute since I've come around. I've moved to Linux and other projects. I tried the community patch several times. Had a question about the fog at horizon distance how it is, is that something that can be done away with? What is the purpose, the blue at the edges.
Re: Community Patch #3
This is pretty sweet. Great job!
I was just thinking of aiming claude at the code, and you already did everything!
I guess next is DLSS 5 it and go for full realism!

Re: Community Patch #3
Ok, if anyone has trouble like me... here are the steps
1. Start a fresh install. I think my years of hacking it together with nGlide, etc, left my install folder in a terrible state.
2. Windows 11 does not allow you to set the compatiblty on the setup.exe, so rename it to install.exe, set compatibility to windows xp, then rename it back to setup.exe
3. Install it, good luck on buttons. Green ones are mostly accept buttons, or open PDF buttons. Buttons won't show text, so you guess clicking through the installer.
4. Install community patch 3, the base patch and other patches do not seem necessary?
5. It will crash saying invalid resolution. Go to systems -> monster.ini
6. Find
gamePIXX=400
gamePIXY=320
And update to 1920 and 1080. 4k Resolutions do not work, you will get an error when you reload the game.
After this, wow, I am deeply impressed. This looks great, runs great. And did you voice sync army to get more lines? What an amazing upgrade! You have made MTM3 here.

Re: Community Patch #3
I'm still confused as to why it's crashing, it's not supposed to. Also good spot about the 4k. It's supposed to go up to whatever the max resolution allowed by the monitor but there might be a soft cap that I missed somewhere (my monitor goes to 1440p max).Slayer wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 7:15 pm Ok, if anyone has trouble like me... here are the steps

Was supposed to show a more gradual fade in/out of the world map rather than a straight up rectangle that suddenly gets cut at the edges. But with the HD background, the fog really does look out of place.Jpez1432 wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 5:36 pm Hey Fila, been a minute since I've come around. I've moved to Linux and other projects. That feature looked great on my old tracks. As for 4k, it seemed to work if you set it after initial launch, using game options. You can use 4k until you shut the game down. When you start it back up, it complains again.
Not the biggest of deals. Lossless scaling fixes it just fine.
Just how many claude credits did you and kmaster (I looked through his repos) spend? Did you go into debt with this and need a donation page from us? Or is it all you?

Re: Community Patch #3
how many tokens? I have no idea, I dont use an api key, nowadays I use a cheapest claude subscription and rags like graphify to get this going. If you have an account I can use when I run of out credits that would be coolSlayer wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 7:14 am Just how many claude credits did you and kmaster (I looked through his repos) spend? That's impressive, I am quite far behind on my prompt engineer skills. Honestly AI has kind of made me hate programming these days. Maybe when AI replaces my job... or I get laid off because of the trade war. I can dive back into Traxx and those new enhancements. Would love to understand and upgrade my old tracks.Kmaster wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 7:43 amhow many tokens? Re: Community Patch #3
Fired it up on my 3gb Nobera laptop. Runs excellent. So fully linux functioning. I just used regular wine, not even proton.
Only small hitch, and this is small, is it didn't seem to be able to detect my available resolutions. Not a big deal, Wine lies. A quick edit to the ini and everything was perfect. And the performance is amazing even on this garbage laptop.

Re: Community Patch #3
Ha. Who knows at this point, I have used a lot but I'm using the plan so whenever I hit the weekly limits I stop. Trying to work on the AI trucks, I've been hitting the weekly limits early for the past two weeks, which at least it allowed me to take a breather. I can't afford to go outside of the plan, it would be too expensive.Slayer wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 7:14 amThat feature looked great on my old tracks. And can't ask for donations, that's I think a grey area with the NDA i signed (at least based on my interpretation of it) and I don't want to risk getting the work shut down because of it.
Re: Community Patch #3
Apparently I used 108.9 billion tokens.
Re: Community Patch #3
Dear lord, had to look this up, Max 20x is literally $200 a month, no wonder things have been slow.
What I don't understand, how does donations towards Claude potentially violate NDA conditions when it's just Claude itself, and not the game source code? This is coming from somebody who isn't behind the scenes with what's going on BTW.

I know there's a lot of resentment towards AI from some people, I was talking about this with Striker a few days ago, but the genie is out of the bottle.
AI will replace our jobs, I have zero doubts about that so I might as well enjoy creating stuff while I still have enough money to pay claude's bills
I'd also love to update my tracks, but I haven't figured out a good way to upgrade tiled terrain textures yet. Fila's way ahead of me on that front.

i guess it could be interpreted as him making money off the code, which is probably prohibited under the NDAFord-chan wrote: Mon Oct 12, 2026 5:59 am Dear lord, had to look this up, Max 20x is literally $200 a month, no wonder things have been slow.
