JSPod - Online POD editor

Post by Kmaster »

JSPod

JSPod is a simple, fast POD archive editor that runs in your browser. You can create, edit, save and extract POD archives without installing anything, and it can do everything KPod does. It supports the following formats:
-version 1 (MTM1&2, CPR, Terminal Velocity, Fury3, Hellbender): open and save
-version 2 (4x4 EVO 1&2, Nocturne): open and save, keeping checksums and change history
-EPD files (Fly! series): open, and save as version 1 or 2
-ZIP files containing a POD: open

Editing
  • Create new POD archives from scratch, or open and change existing ones
  • Add files or whole folders, just by dragging them onto the list
  • Replace, rename, move and delete files and folders, or create new folders
  • Change the archive title (comment)
  • Undo and redo any change
  • Save over the original file, save under a new name, or download it
  • Save as version 1 or version 2
  • Hide a track or truck from the game without deleting it, and bring it back later
  • Edit text files (tracks, trucks, settings) right inside JSPod
  • Turn your own pictures (PNG, BMP, JPG, TGA) into game textures, with a new palette or one already in the archive
Tools
  • Check an archive for problems before you share it
  • See the change history of 4x4 EVO archives, and record your own
  • Build an archive from a list file, and save file lists and reports
  • Add your archive to the game's pod.ini with one click
  • Extract selected files or everything, with or without their folders, or download it all as a ZIP
  • Reopen recent archives quickly
Browsing and previews
  • Open POD, EPD and ZIP files from disk, by drag and drop, or via URL (including ?url= query parameter)
  • File list with name, size and description columns, sorting, multi-select and right-click menu
  • Live filter, plus a Find panel to search by name or size
  • Format descriptions for 90+ Terminal Reality file extensions
  • Advanced 3D model preview based on the Three.js library, with lighting, smoothing, wireframe, palette selection and the whole deal. Supports BIN models from all TRI games up to MTM2, HD BINs as defined for CommPatch 3, 4x4 EVO models, CART cars and Nocturne characters
  • RAW texture preview for all sizes, with save as BMP or PNG
  • Text and hex preview for any file
  • WAV sound and MOD music playback
Saving straight to the original file, recent files, extracting into a folder and pod.ini mounting need Chrome or Edge. In Firefox and Safari the result is downloaded instead.

hey, you might want to consider integrating it with truck viewer and track viewer. you know, adding a button when viewing a SIT file or a TRK file so it can be opened in TrackViewer/TruckViewer.

maybe in the future i'll add pod creating / modifications / removals tools. there's a lot of CHPOD features that i would like to have integrated

JSPod 1.4.0

JSPod opens Terminal Reality POD, EPD and ZIP archives in your browser and previews what is inside: textures, palettes, 3D models, text and audio. Nothing is uploaded: every file is read locally.

New: Nocturne models
  • .DFM characters open in the 3D viewer, skinned to the skeleton their .SKL file names, with their textures.
  • The toolbar picks the level of detail, the motion and the frame, and Loop motion plays the selected motion at its own frame rate.
  • .KFM props and cloth open in the same viewer, in both the binary and the text versions, with a slider through their morph frames.
New: CART Precision Racing cars
  • .CMD high-detail car models now open in the 3D viewer with their textures, instead of as text.
  • Stock cars carry both wing sets in one file, so a Wing package selector switches between the road/street course and the speedway/oval setup.
Model viewer
  • Animated BINs blend smoothly from frame to frame, and Play (or the A key) loops them.
  • Textures are smoothly filtered by default.
  • The camera keeps its orbit, pan and zoom when you switch models or poses, so comparing models no longer resets the view.
Fixes
  • Fly! EPD archives now all open, with their full list of files. Previously only some did.
  • Dark .ACT palettes are no longer wrongly brightened fourfold.
  • A .RAW of an unusual size now previews instead of failing with an error.
  • 4x4 Evolution 2 normal-map textures (_BUMP.TIF) now decode, and are labelled as normal maps.
  • Terminal Velocity and Fury3 models are drawn at the correct size.
Under the hood
  • Archives, textures, palettes and models are now read through OpenPhotex 1.0, the shared format library also used by JSTrackViewer, JSTruckViewer and JSMTM2Converter.

JSPod 2.0

What's New

JSPod is now a full POD editor that runs in your browser, not just a viewer.

- Create new POD archives from scratch, or open and change existing ones.
- Add files or whole folders, just by dragging them onto the list.
- Replace, rename, move and delete files and folders.
- Create new folders inside an archive.
- Change the archive's title (comment).
- Undo and redo any change.
- Save over the original file, save under a new name, or download it.
- Save as POD1 (MTM1, MTM2, CART, Terminal Velocity, Fury3, Hellbender) or POD2 (4x4 Evolution 1 and 2, Nocturne).
- POD2 archives keep their checksums and change history, and record who changed what.
- Hide a track or truck from the game without deleting it, and bring it back later.
- Edit text files (tracks, trucks, settings) right inside JSPod.
- Turn your own pictures (PNG, BMP, JPG, TGA) into game textures, with a new palette or one already in the archive.
- Save any texture as a PNG picture.
- Check an archive for problems before you share it.
- Build an archive from a list file, and save file lists and reports.
- Add your archive to the game's pod.ini with one click.
- Extract selected files or everything, with or without their folders.
- Find files by name or size, and sort the list by name, size or type.
- Select many files at once, and use the right-click menu.
- Reopen recent archives quickly.
- Play MOD music files, and look inside any file byte by byte.

Some features (saving straight to the original file, recent files, extracting into a folder, pod.ini) need Chrome or Edge. In Firefox and Safari the result is downloaded instead.
