My thoughts on what updates MTMG needs ~legendofwii92

Post by Legend_Of_Wii »

OK, so here's what I got at the moment, Fila.

We gotta do a soft transition when separating the old and the new MTM2 game builds/tools since a lot is being done for it.
I'm talking about these.

- Trucks and Tracks (Classic era, before Beta Patch 0.42)
- 2.1 Trucks and 2.1 Tracks (Modern era, during Beta Patch 0.42 and higher)

I'm curious but does this mean in future patches we may see stuff beyond 2.1 trucks/tracks?? IDK what will all be changed and added, but I guess we'll just wait and see.

OK, please keep in mind...

1; This is all for LATER, not at the moment. K? :) No worries.
2; Whenever you do feel like doing this sometimes in the future, the stuff from here can be SLOWLY changed for one or few things at a time.
and 3; I'm just dumping my thoughts out in this here, and just doing more helping here providing my input, that's all.

With that said, you may read the rest of this, friend.

First my thoughts about MTM1 as of today.
- Some people (myself included) still loves MTM1.
- Some people (myself included) still plays MTM1.
- I hope people can still make more new MTM1 trucks/tracks.
- Especially the fact we know that MTM1 trucks/tracks actually work in MTM2, even within Beta Patch 0.42 and newer especially!
- And with MTM1 drags working in MTM2 now, they prove MTM1 definitely still has it's place in our hearts for nostalgia and in our minds for creating.
- So can we change how things are worded when people are reading before uploading truck/track addons? It's not like MTM1 stuff is restricted from being posted, lol.. :D

And here's the things to change and add.

- MTM2.com | MTMG > Downloads > Trucks | The page needs updates!
- - Add "Game" Category - This will help keep things nice and tidy!
- - - "MTM1" entry for the Game category - Add these, and move these into this category!
- - - - "MTM1 Custom" type
- - - - "MTM1 Repaint" type
- - - - "MTM1 Replica" type
- - - - "MTM1 Weird" type
- - - - "MTM1 Small Tires" type
- - - - "MTM1 Pack" type
- - - - "MTM1 Beta" type
- - - "Classic MTM2" entry for the Game category - Rename the types by including MTM2 on them, and move these into this category!
- - - - "MTM2 Custom" type
- - - - "MTM2 Repaint" type
- - - - "MTM2 Replica" type
- - - - "MTM2 Weird" type
- - - - "MTM2 Small Tires" type
- - - - "MTM2 Pack" type
- - - - "MTM2 Beta" type
- - - "Modern MTM2" entry for the Game category - Move the existing types in this category!
- - - - "2.1 Custom" type
- - - - "2.1 Repaint" type
- - - - "2.1 Replica" type
- - - - "2.1 Weird" type
- - - - "2.1 Small Tires" type
- - - - "2.1 Pack" type
- - - - "2.1 Beta" type

- MTM2.com | MTMG > Downloads > Tracks | The page needs updates!
- - Add Category - This will help keep things nice and tidy!
- - - "MTM1 Tracks" category - Add the new types, eventually delete the "MTM" type after correctly labeling any MTM1 track uploads with the right types that was newly made. (In the past it has always been circuit and rally tracks, sooo... I thought there was literally only 1 upload that was a drag I think but not given the correct type in the upload)
- - - - "MTM1 Circuit" type
- - - - "MTM1 Rally" type
- - - - "MTM1 Straight-a-way" type
- - - - "MTM1 Drag" type
- - - - "MTM1 Freestyle (Players only)" type
- - - - "MTM1 ST" type
- - - - "MTM1 SX / MX" type
- - - - "MTM1 Slalom (Players only)" type
- - - - "MTM1 Tag (Players only)" type
- - - - "MTM1 Demolition Derby (Players only)" type
- - - - "MTM1 Beta" type
- - - - "MTM1 Free Roam" type
- - - - "MTM1 Pack" type
- - - "Classic MTM2 Tracks" category
- - - - "MTM2 Circuit" type
- - - - "MTM2 Rally" type
- - - - "MTM2 Straight-a-way" type
- - - - "MTM2 Drag (Players only)" type
- - - - "MTM2 Freestyle (Players only)" type
- - - - "MTM2 ST" type
- - - - "MTM2 SX / MX" type
- - - - "MTM2 Slalom (Players only)" type
- - - - "MTM2 Tag (Players only)" type
- - - - "MTM2 Demolition Derby (Players only)" type
- - - - "MTM2 Beta" type
- - - - "MTM2 Rumble" type
- - - - "MTM2 RnR" type
- - - - "MTM2 Free Roam" type
- - - - "MTM2 Pack" type
- - - "Modern MTM2 Tracks" category
- - - - "2.1 Circuit" type
- - - - "2.1 Rally" type
- - - - "2.1 Straight-a-way" type
- - - - "2.1 Drag" type
- - - - "2.1 Freestyle (Players only)" type (I don't see it being AI thing anytime soon, Players route is the best way to do it)
- - - - "2.1 ST" type
- - - - "2.1 SX / MX" type
- - - - "2.1 Slalom (Players only)" type (for now on Players only, IDK)
- - - - "2.1 Tag (Players only)" type (for now on Players only, IDK)
- - - - "2.1 Demolition Derby (Players only)" type (for now on Players only, IDK)
- - - - "2.1 Beta" type
- - - - "2.1 Rumble" type
- - - - "2.1 RnR" type
- - - - "2.1 Free Roam" type
- - - - "2.1 Pack" type

My tr?ck thoughts I want to say.
- Let's make sure we give small descriptions on what every type means for trucks/tracks so everyone knows what qualifies as such things.
- With trucks, later on in the future whenever we can do the "less is more" approach with me and Ford-chan's idea for players being able to customize our trucks at Driver Check-In, having extra parts to things about the truck that can be changed contained in their .POD file, then anything beyond 2.1 can bring birth to "2.2 Customizable" as a type name entry in future patches or something like that.
- With track types, having "(Players Only)" in the end of the names for some of them makes sense as that'll help inform and remind us that these tracks are NOT made for AI opponents in the classic games of MTM1 and MTM2.
- - Common non-existent track types (usually as circuit or rally) such as...
- - - Freestyle in ALL MTM games, I doubt there will ever be any with AI anytime soon.
- - - MTM2 Drags
- - Interesting uncommon non-existent track types (usually as circuit or rally) such as...
- - - Straight-a-way (simple endless loop of 1 course segment lol)
- - - Free Roam (usually no course segments)
- - - - ... Then there's other kinds meant for other vehicles such as...
- - - - - ST (roads meant for ST type trucks)
- - - - - SX / MX (indoors from SX and outdoors from MX, dirt bike stuff)
- - - - - - ... And also including ones with interesting set of rules when keeping up to say who won during such tracks like these are...
- - - - - - - Slalom
- - - - - - - Tag
- - - - - - - Demolition Derby
- - - - - - - RnR (classic/modern MTM2 only, Race N Rumble)
- Traxx School, ST Converter, and Junk Upload are removed because in my vision they all seem redundant to me based on closer inspection. And any track upload titles needs to be slightly updated to make better sense, and have their types changed to what they're suppose to be.
- - While Traxx School is not needed, I would love to do tutorial videos for people on Traxx and JTraxx sometime though.
- - ST Converter feels like a duplicate of Small Tires. I mean I get it, some tracks were converted to be for Small Tires stuff, but it's best to not have that. ST should mean tracks that were originally created to be Small Tires and any existing track converted to be Small Tires.
- - Junk Upload? Not really needed.
- - Music Addons? I rather the uploads under that type be placed in a new page. :P So here's that idea below.

- MTM2.com | MTMG > Downloads > Classic Music Addons
- - Anaheim Music Addon (Application) by Yeastman (uploaded since 1999-02-17)
- - Fila's Adventure Music Addon (Pod) by SLO_Fila (uploaded since 2002-01-14)
- - Ostego's Run Music Addon (Pod) by SLO_Fila (uploaded since 2002-03-08)
- - TMX Music Addon (Pod) by MTF_Twisted (uploaded since 1998-11-13)
- - Moto GP 3 Music Pack (Pod) by Rhitosparsh (uploaded since 2013-10-08)
- NOTE: Create "Classic Music Addons" page in Downloads located in MTMG. Move all the ones listed at that new page. And then remove the Music Addons type.

- MTM2.com | MTMG > Downloads > AI Army Armstrong
- - History of my AI Army Armstrong voice model in text can be placed here on the top.
- - Local section for those with powerful PC specs.
- - - Download for AI TTS Army Armstrong model
- - - Download for AI RVC Army Armstrong model
- - Online section for those with weak PC specs. (downloading the audio files after generating still counts for sure)
- - - Link to the AI TTS Army Armstrong
- - - Link to the AI RVC Army Armstrong

My thoughts I want to say about the AI Army stuff I made.
- YES Fila, I want everyone to be able to use the AI voice models of Army Armstrong rather it's TTS or RVC, with online and local choices. :)
- We all deserve to enjoy using Army's voice together for truck calls (mainly at the time) or even mess around for fun. :P After all, I am sure I'm not the only one who dreams of Army doing additional lines even if it's via AI lol.
- You got my green light!
- So Fila, when you do got time later on in the future, please DM me and we'll get it started once I give you both of the AI voice models... we also need to discuss HOW are we going to do the online version. So far all I can think about is Google Colabs (which is free I believe) at the time, unless there's something better than that right now.

That's all of them.
I thought real hard and slowly as I took my time to come up with most logic as possible in my reasonings here with this stuff.

To be honest IDK how many people will still do the old stuff and if making new content the old ways will ever fade away eventually, but hey, the beta/community patches is to help make MTM2 feel new again and be at it's absolute best in the modern days.

Thanks for your time reading this, and I hope this helps give you ideas of how to update MTMG a bit, Fila.
And have a great day everyone reading this.
I'm the creator of the Army Armstrong voice model on Uberduck.ai. :)
But Uberduck.ai removed all the contributed voices so that site sucks now. :( Will re-upload it soon!
