hey but what happened to the track palette? you said you were gonna kill that thing on the next beta. or something like that? are we having a patch to remove limitations (i think this is a recurrent topic)?

of course i couldn't stop clicking rumbles. theres a reason they're there (to annoy me FOR YEARS with their stupid multiplayer warning) and i also need to click things because i'm an idiot. i think you should just enable offline rumble play and not worry about dumb AI. that way we can test rumbles more easily without going into z-mode.

i'm glad the GUI is getting reworked into something more flexible and not limited to Windows' controls. shall we add to the wishlist the possibility of a windowed mode (I don't know why I forgot that)
Windowed mode is already active. Just hit F4.

Eh, not sure if i misspoke or not. I never intended it to do it in the current beta but in one of the upcoming ones. Most likely the one after the menu work as that will open up more opportunities and I will finally feel like I can start work on features rather than just figure out why a shadow is not working.

Well right now the AI just won't run at all in an offline rumble. lol

All I can say right now is WOW! Wow Fila, wow... you did a lot right now, and I am glad you decided to do more work on MTM2 beta patches for the next future Community Patch #3.

Keep up the good work, and remember to work smart, not hard. :)

All I can do is play test and suggest anything at this time.

Something you might want to look into: the latest beta doesn’t render certain shades of red, orange, and pink correctly.

Actually after playing around with it some more I think it’s related to how the game is rendering the shocks and axlebars. Things look fine in the menu but then you load a track and the colors aren’t right anymore.

While the truck reflections in The Graveyard are fixed, I noticed a new issue; it seems that on any track that has rainy weather enabled, the water particles that get kicked up by any truck's tires get way too bright if you're far enough away with them. Audio sounds about the same as before the first hotfix.

This might be the color palette of that particular track affecting colors in the trucks.

I have to look into it. It might be something I've done too. Speaking of track palettes affecting trucks, which tracks heavily affect the trucks? I remember there were a few but I can't find their names. I wanna do some testing with that.

Can you do a sanity check for me and run in DX11 a few times and let me know if you get the same sound issue. I haven't touched the sound and it's fine on my end so I have to try and narrow down what I'm looking for.

Funny you should ask, the game won't let me switch to DirectX, period. Switches to software rendering if I try.

And you were able to run .48 on dx11 just fine right?

What's your video card?

Oh that's good to know.

I think I might have broken the DX choices on your end due to a specific change, I at least know where to look.

For the sound though, I have zero knowledge of internal steam deck workings so I will have to, sadly, rely 100% on what the AI tells me, which is a 50/50 crapshoot :)

I didn't get to check steam OS yet with the new updates, but I can do that tomorrow and let you know If dx11 is broken on my end too.

I forgot I have steam deck which would help with testing... but how do people have it set up? I can get it working through steam + proton but i have no time to figure out how to map the controllers.

My xbox controller works with no setup on SteamOS. Just enable Steam Input, and you should be able to set up your controller as a joystick. Left / right for turning, forward / backward on the same axis for acceleration. Then the triggers should just work. Edit: One quirk is that the first race after starting the game, you have to initiate the movement of your track with the left stick, then the triggers will work after that.

You had asked about tracks with bad color pallets for trucks, Kryptik Mountains leaves a green tint on Cale's tires and bed covers. I thought about making a test track with just a greyscale palette to see what effect that had on everything. :D

I forgot to mention in my first post that you fixed the tire tracks, no more flickering and they look amazing!

All renderers (dx9/11, vulkan) work well on steamos for me on the 5600xt machine. Dx11 performs the best now.

On steam OS, Vulkan forces vsync even after turning it off in the steam performance menu and both toggles in the game. However, game menus work just fine with Vulkan on steamos.

Final thing for now, it may have been a fluke, but on dx9 on zoon Motocross at dusk after finishing my first lap the tire tracks all turned bright white. They then turn black again after a bit but would flash bright white at random points. Kind of similar behavior to what was happening with the reflections on the water previously. Maybe related to the map seam? I haven't tested enough in night weathers yet, so I'm not sure if anything like this happens with other renderers.

Got Direct3D 11 working now, but the glitchy audio still persists.

Shockwave, Audio is fine on SteamOS for me. Have you messed with the sound settings at all in game?

Fila, people have tried out 0.49 online now. They report no more flying but some jittering, and another person says invisible contact was being made from several truck-lengths away, e.g. he got spun out by someone who was several truck lengths behind him.
