Post by Nathan Gruenholz »

Even if i use fixall.pod, my colors are still messed up! I used it correctly, and the water is still gray and my bigfoot #1 replica is green at night!!! Im using a crusty non 3d card, lame computer, but somebody...help!

To use the fixall.pod, just put it at the top of the pod.ini list. Nothing hard about that. If the water is still gray, then it's not at the top.

If the colors on your bigfoot replica are not correct, then there's probably an incompatibility between the truck color palette and the track palette. Try a different track.

Running software mode should not affect colors at all. Software mode has to do with the clarity and quality (i.e., resolution) of the image on your screen.

Likely, this is a graphics card problem. When I had an ATI card, I had all sorts of trouble. There were some tracks I couldn't even run.

Thanx for the reply, dude.
Heres what my pod.ini looks like

25
fixall.pod
blah.pod
blahblah
blah...etc.

...Anyway, you maybe be right about the track compatability. at farm rd29, the colors are dead on right(right kinda blue...the other custom bigfoots seem right also.) How do i fix the color palettes for ALL TRAX???

My graphics resolution is 320x200(putrid, eh?)

Well, in that case, what color depth are you running on your computer. It could be that your graphics card is limiting the number of colors available. Try raising it if you can.

ouch. That would be a task and a half and the problem with it would be that you'll be the only one who sees it. I might suggest you find a few people to beta test your truck to see how it appears on other computers. At least that way you'd know if it's the truck or your comp.

Maybe the monitor offers limits too?

After i read youre reply, i up'ed the monitor coloring (on the Desktop) to 32-bit.

it didnt work..again (need new comp??)

The Bigfoot #1 truck isnt mine, i downloaded it from "BEEK's truck lot."

---Also, the custom trucks seem to have the same problems, too. a custom "Chevy Blue Bearfoot" truck isnt blue, but GOLD!!!(at the sign in screen).

If there is a program that lets me change track 'n' truck palettes with ease(like using palettes from other tracks and putting it on another,)please let me know. That would be the best option...maybe.

(Don't tell me to upgrade or get another Comp. Cause that situation might be out of hand(i put a 3dfx card in my comp and it fried the modem, mainboard, mouse!)

Compaq sucks :-(

This sounds like the same problem i had a month ago... (here's the thread) .

The stock bigfoot looks perfect but other blue trucks like BF1 and superman looked that ugly greenish color but not in all tracks just some and one in particular i was working on. i was able to correct the problem by pulling the textures from the problem trucks and pasting them onto my track then after creating a custom track pallet all was well again, blues were blue and oranges were orange. this only fixed the problem for the one track mind you and i was able to do it because i had the tracks .txx file, perhaps there is a way to fix the problem across the board via a fixall type patch but none exsists as far as i know and its a pretty rare thing so i doubt anyone will create one soon, thats if its even possible Image

btw, sometimes the water is grey for me also on certain tracks and i too have the fixall at the top.

btw 2, i am running a PII 450 dell with a geforce 32 bit vid card with all the latest drivers, so i doubt its your system its just that the tracks pallet seems to supercede the trucks.
