The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again. (when trying to login)

Post by Fila »

You guys might encounter this error when trying to login.

I have no idea what is going on with it. It seems to be cookie/cache related but I haven't found out how to fix it yet.

A workaround for now is to go incognito/private mode and log in that way. It seems to work fine when doing that.

A glitch gremlin messing about I assume? XD

I was going to message Cale through the socials and ask him if he was having the same issue as well, looks like I'm not the only one after all.

And yes, I am in Incognito right now as I post this, so it works 100%. Problem is, it has to run on a different window, not through a tab, which is a little inconvenient for me.

Yeah it's annoying. It seems to happen when cookies get refreshed. I have reinstalled the board and it worked fine again for a few days. Then whenever that refresh happens, poof, it stops working.

Anyway, another workaround that I just found out right now is to delete the cookies for the website. Even though the board has a handy dandy "delete cookies" link at the bottom right, it doesn't seem to work.

it MIGHT have something to do with the board cookies not being set up correctly to begin with and it was overstepping with the mtm2.com domain. If in the pictures below, you find any cookies for mtm2.com delete them too. The website doesn't really use them anyway anymore. Or at least not since the migration.

I'm using Vivaldi browser and i did the following:
WhereCookies.jpg
WhereCookies2.jpg
WhereCookies3.jpg

It's not working for me either. Definitely a cookies issue, but I'm too lazy to dig through that!

So far doing the delete thing has worked for me. Now I'm back to being able to log in the normal way.

the phpbb3 cookies for domain "mtm2.com" are colliding with the new cookies which have "forum.mtm2.com" as domain.
clearing all cookies and then logging in again works.

For some reason, deleting cookies whilst on this site on my phone (through the Chrome app) doesn't seem to work, half the time I can't be bothered to jump on my PC just to see what's going on here, but I can imagine it's not a problem on PC, I'll try it later, but a lot of the time I'm usually on my phone, and I still have to run Incognito mode on it.

I just tried with my phone. It was originally giving the error, then deleted the cookies and it worked.

I'm not using chrome though but it should be similar. Go to the mtm2.com front page and do the same delete there too.
