Steepest hill climb?

Post by Phineus »

I just accidentally found what I think is one of the steepest, drivable hill climbs I've ever seen. I can't use it for the track I'm working on but wanted to note it someplace so maybe I (or somebody) could come back to it later.

That's twelve tiles to rise two hundred and thirty seven feet. Previously, I thought the avalanche at cp4 of motherlode was one of the steepest climbable hills but this one's got that topped. Come to think of it, winterwood probably comes close to this.

I think I just challenged myself to a hilly track.

Neat. It's steep while being relatively smooth, which is surely what you meant by "drivable". (At the expense of drivability steeper is certainly possible, considering that our trucks can climb a near vertical cliff if the tires can get a grip.)

I would say the hill in wintwood is the smoothest possible transition from 0 to 255 (2 to 254 actually) in as short a distance, i.e. the curve is visually smooth and the wheels never leave the ground, but it takes 'longer' than yours to accomplish the change in elevation.
