question

Post by H2Oc_gogeta »

i am making a track and when i try to try it out, the game will start loading and it will get to the part were it says loading scenery then an error message pops up saying it can't open model 1. now what is up with that? i have gone through deleting ever model one at a time without saving but podding and it still won't work. does this track just oppose the models or something? is there a limit to how big a model can be? just needs a beatdown i guess. that image is a .bmp, you need to save it as a .jpeg or a .gif image for it to show up on the net... or you can just copy the text from the error and paste it here, that should be enough...

This is the one i suspect that you got (except for the model names of course)

The above post gave good advice. Follow those instructions if you haven't yet .

Now, specifically, the "model name" might be different, but the "message" is the same.

Try the above change in windows first, then reload all the models in the track again. If that doesn't work, unmount all trucks except the stock trucks. If that doesn't work, re-extract the models and art from the track you began with (eg, crazy 98) then reload all the models in the track again. This will fix the problem. If it doesn't, you're not doing what you say you're doing.

edit. ouch, took me fifteen minutes to type that? I ... think ... I'm ... getting ... slo ... ow ... in ... my ... old ... age ... L ... O ... L
