Thanks guys. I'm having some trouble with FB. I'm using this body.

http://mtm2.com/~trucks/trucks.cgi?s=Awesome+Kong+III

I need to change the wheel colors. But when I click on yellow in the bmp, it turns to bright red. What do I have to do?

What program are you using to paint. Have you seen this page?

http://cownap.com/~mtmg/trucks/painting1.html

And remember, just like when painting a truck body, you have to increase the colors for wheels too.

Have you thought of maybe finding wheels that are already made that might do the job too?

Thats the thing. I didn't increase it because there is color bar.

It's still a color palette thing.

What color do you want the wheels?

These are the files, no?

K2WHL.ACT
K2WHL.RAW
K3WHL.ACT
K3WHL.RAW

PS. I'm going to split this topic out of the truck review.

Here you go. And the files are already renamed to avoid conflict.

Upload the truck and mark it as "beta". We'll get to the bottom of this.

Download the zip I give you above. Copy the ACT and RAW files to your ART folder, and copy the BIN files to your MODELS folder. Then in the TRK file, update the "tireModelBaseName" like this

OLD
  • MTM2 truckName
    Full Boar 2008
    truckModelBaseName
    FULLBOAR.bin
    tireModelBaseName
    bcnak
    axleModelName
    axlejplo.bin
    shockTextureName
    black.raw
NEW
  • MTM2 truckName
    Full Boar 2008
    truckModelBaseName
    FULLBOAR.bin
    tireModelBaseName
    fboar
    axleModelName
    axlejplo.bin
    shockTextureName
    black.raw
Then save and remake the pod. You should be fine then.

And remember, repainting a wheel (or any model) is done in exactly the same way as repainting the truck body. Give everything a new, unique file name, repaint the texture and replace the name in the bin file. And if it's a truck, then update the TRK file so the game knows the right parts to use.

Nice!

tip > if you set the face type on those custom wheel bins to 'shiney mtm2' in binedit they will look much better cuz shiney blends the faces seamlessly.

I guess technically that would be my fault because I just replaced the textures that were there... I did not do anything else.

Shiney or flat... either way it works and looks fine.
